prop shaft bearing
 

can anybody tell me how much play/movment or if any is allowable in the cutlass bearing in the suport strut for the prop shaft on a malibu vlx. the motor was out of allinment and i have about a 1/4 play there and am a little worried about it.

1/4 inch? The play should be nearly unnoticeable.

And don´t you have any leaks with 1/4 inch of play? I had to replace my bearing cause of the leaks.
