Does anyone have any experience towing with this truck/suv? Pros and cons?

I have an 07 Avalanche and can tell you that it pulls better than my 06 Tahoe did. However I ahve had to place the tranny under warranty but I dont think that had anything to do with towing. Get the 6.0 if you really want a tow rig.

I have a '02 Avalanche also. Got it prior to the boat. We have been towing our boat for 3 years now. No problems so far. It does bog down on some hills. I would also recommend the 6.0. Remember chevy's have weak transmissions and a 1500 is not really made to be an everyday tow vehicle. I am just waiting for my tranny to go. Also get an extra tranny cooler and it will help.

Thanks a lot for the help. It would pretty much be used for towing on flat streets.

'03 Avalanche here. With my 19' Rinker it towed like a champ, with the Tige RZ2 it's a complete dog anytime there is any kind of hill. I am in the Denver area so the altitude sucks ~20% of my power out. I had the tranny rebuilt and beefed up at 65k miles. If Chevy would just put the new 6 speed tranny in the Avalanche, it would be the bomb! I love my Av, the rear storage compartments are awesome for putting cleaning supplies and trailer hitch parts and such in.

04 Avalanche, tows my V215 easily. I even towered it from Sacramento to Whidbey Island, Wa with ease!<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/messages/65921/466854.jpg" alt="Upload">
