I'm not near my boat and I need to order a set of new exhaust flappers, they seem to offer them in 3" and 4" does anyone know the size on 86 2001's with a 351?

Thanks in advance for any replies.

its proabbly 3 but not for sure

I'm almost positive it would be 3". 4" is probably for the single exhausts. Anyway, here's a picture of my '86 so you can guess yourself:

Is that MAC's old boat? If not that thing looks to be in great shape.

Oh and by the way is it important to have those I noticed mine tore off as well. Thanks Jeff

I was thinking the exact same thing about that boat.

Jeff,

Yes and yes. You definitely want to replace that flap ASAP. Without it, water can easily be forced back up through the exhaust (when you stop quickly or even if you get hit by a big roller from the back) and into the engine. If that happens while the engine is stopped, you might get hydrolock in one or two cylinders and not be able to start the engine. If the engine is running, you might get hydrolock and the inertia of the engine can bend a rod...complete rebuild.

Thanks Salmon, You have a very nice boat and I guess I will be calling WCCC later today to get some replacements.

Thanks. By WCCC, I assume you mean West Coast Correct Craft or something like that? You could also try www.skidim.com
