Danny, what kind of boat are you putting that thing in?! I am going to UC Davis in the fall so if you are ever looking for a third, hit me up!
yea your right this sub is no joke its the real deal but . in the past i have ran over 5000 watts to one 18 but only for 30 seconds in a comp. its a friends centurion c4 .
One-Way, Linear Excursion -Xmax: 54 mm
how many inches is that?

A W-7 move's 3 inches 1.5 out and 1.5 back I thought it was 80 MM.

My math 54mm one way would mean 108 mm both way's
thats like 4 inche's WOW

What are you gonna power this thing with?
1 inch = 25.4mm,
54mm = 2.13 inches
BTW : I know RE makes a sub with the NEO magnet's I thought the one in the picture looked like it because of the smaller than traditional magnet size.

I would like to hear this and other RE sub's the spec's look real nice.
it should be playin in a few hours ill keep you up dated
Are you supporting the back end of the sub in the box. That thing looks like it would try to rip itself out of the hole in the box when hitting wakes.
ok i fired it up last night with one us amp md2d at 1 ohm is 1 x 1500 and it dumps but the speaker is not even moving so i need to strap one more md2d to it and then will see what happens yes the speaker has a brace for it .
I dont understand US amp's deal with RE Sub's. IMO US amps are pretty crappy amp's. And RE sub's are upper end sub's how or why would you pair a crappy week amp with a big power sucking sub?
because they can sell crappy amps, but they cant sell a lot of $1200 subs.
I bet it's not any louder than a Kicker solobaric or JLw7. It's still moving the same amount of air. Looks killer though and good job on the box. It should sound sweet.
Grant,
Which models from US do you have your "crappy" experience with? I only ask because I've been asked to audition some of their products.
sorry for hijack
well if its moving 1 in more excursion wise compared to a w7 i would believe its pushing more air
Duane: I havent tested the US amp's myself so mabey I should have not said anything.

Why would you demo US amps when you sell ZAPCO now. IMO that like the Porsche dealer selling Yugo's
G, US amps are a well built highly regarded amp in the car audio world. They have different lines...their entry level aren't that great but there high end line is good quality.
ok us amps are not cpappy they are well built i would not say they are better than zapco but you can beat the crap out of them and they dont shut down the ax tube amp is off the hook .i have ran many diffrent anps in my life time and us amps are pretty good. and yes it is a lot louder than a kicker or jl if you ask me .
Danny your box needs to be tuned to 21 hz and should be 2.63 cu ft if you are running a ported enclosure. (not including the sub volume)

Unfortunately for you the box gods recommend using that sub based on it's mechanical and electrical qualities as a sealed sub. For a Q=1 you need a box that is about 0.51 cu ft (not including the huge volume for the sub) or for a Q or .707 you need a box volume of 1.27 cu ft.

Looks like right now you will more than likely not be able to get everything you want out of that sub.

(Message edited by deltahoosier on August 20, 2007)

Grant; Why audition US amps when I offer Zapco?
Good q but easy to answer.
1)Zapco is a bit pricy
2)Zapco does not allow Internet sales. My dealer agreement allows me to sell Zapco only as part of a system.
3)Certain situatins call for an amp not offered in the Zapco line. Case in point: Pair of JL W6 v2 (good), or NVS Alumapro RX (better). The Ref. line from Z does not offer a Class D. The 1100.1 is an A/B unit and is good but better for the application and $$ is available.
Lastly, like stated above, not to many Class A 12V units out there. That one is definetly on my audition list.
