ok so i am 5 9 give or take an inch and im 142 pounds. i have experience in skateboarding. im looking for a good board under 150.

i was looking at the two gator boards, the timmy and the Drew. would those be any good for me? thanks.

dlwsrider 06-07-2007 8:24 PM

yeah those would be great, gator boards make sick skates.

dont go with the clear grip though, its not as good as the solid black

posse22o 06-07-2007 8:27 PM

cool. so which of the two is better to go with, or are they equally the same? and is there a way to have it come with black grip instead of the clear grip?

dlwsrider 06-07-2007 8:48 PM

Im not sure, i was talking to a gator rep about the clear grip because i know from my skateboarding experience that clear grip is not as grippy, nor holds up as well as the black grip and he confermed my suspicions, but as far as how to order them, it depends. You can normally call up an online retailer and ask for it while you order instead of ordering it online.

For your size, id go with the drew, i ride a 41 inch board and im 137 at 5' 10".

plus i like the way they described the concave on it.

http://www.buywake.com/catalog/detail/1EnJ9

and if you need shoes (trust me, you will)

get some DVS triumphs, their mesh and drain insanely fast, i got mine on sale from liberty board shop (google it, i have no link) for 40 bucks

posse22o 06-08-2007 5:19 AM

yeah i know ill need shoes, but my dad isnt going to let me get the ones made for wakeskating because he thinks im not going to stay with it. i dont think hes right.

cant i just use some old skate shoes that i dont care about drying quickly? plus for now im only using it in camp until i get back then ill use my friends boat,

posse22o 06-08-2007 5:20 AM

and also, i dont think i can get the 2007 Drew because it is $150. is the 2006 just as good?

closedtoe 06-08-2007 10:49 PM

ive heard of people drilling holes in skateshoes so they drain quicker. I also heard of a shoe made by adio thats supposed to be a good crossover shoe.

treycleaton 06-09-2007 9:13 AM

that would be Adio Quests, they rock.....nice and grippy

posse22o 06-09-2007 11:58 AM

yeah but i dont need any new shoes. i would like them, but im not gunna be allowed.

posse22o 06-10-2007 6:20 PM

and with the drew, will i also be able do do flip tricks even with the weight?

dlwsrider 06-10-2007 11:11 PM

dude, your not gonna be able to do all of your skateboard tricks as soon as you step on the skate.

im entering my third year and i just now started getting consistent 3 shuvs.

and im not a bad skateboarder.

added weight is good on a wakeskate, dont worry

posse22o 06-11-2007 5:26 AM

i know im not going to be able to do skate tricks right away. i just want to make sure encase i just wanna try doing it.

and added weight is good, so thats good then. ill try to get the drew then. and why is it like 15 ply when all the other skates ive seen are 9 or 10?

posse22o 11-14-2007 6:19 PM

now i got the skate and used it. only was able to use it three times. and only got up once. and now over the summer while i was gone(at camp) my friend sold his boat. and i was going to be using that to use the skate with after camp was over and now i cant. does anybody know of any other ways i can use it?

lovin_the_wake 11-26-2007 7:52 AM

PWC, Winch, Cable Park, and pretty much any boat will do
