Don't put bottles of water on Seadek!

While packing the boat cooler for the weekend trip my wife placed 5 of the half sized bottles of water on the swimdeck for about 15 seconds while loading. Everything came together just right and they acted like magnafying glasses in the sun, burning / melting the Seadek! Wasn't her fault and i never thought of it either.

I think I remember Dave posting about burning the carpet in the old Ghost with bottles of vodka too. Crazy.

Wow that sucks. I will be avoiding doing this. We had some gas cans on our swim deck at Powell and one of them left a circular mark in the foamy stuff. I am hoping it eventually disappears.

Had no clue this could happen....?????

wakeworld 08-24-2010 11:30 AM

How crazy is that. Jos, good memory. We had a bottle of Absolut sitting in the carpeted side pocket in the front of The Ghost all the way to Powell and it melted the carpet.

stang_killa_ss 08-24-2010 11:46 AM

luckily no ants were injured

packrat 08-24-2010 11:53 AM

Sorry to hear about that, I would never have believed that could happen. Wonder if clear bottles like some beers or Mike's would also do the same thing. I still use the swimstep cover I had made to go over the SeaDek and I leave it on until the boat is getting launched.
