I'm having a hard time deciding whether to keep the rack that comes with the '03 SAN or to trade it for the NVERT racks...my dealer said he would hook me up for about $100 dollars if i want to just swap my new stock racks for the NVERTS....WHAT SHOULD I DO!?

masonlakerider 05-19-2003 1:16 AM

I haven't used either because I still don't have the boat yet, so any opinions are greatly appreciated before I have to make the decision!

Chad,
If you have the flight clips I will buy them from you.Let me know I'm in the market for some of those!!

I have the same problem. These racks look cool but all I've seen is pictures. Dane if you're out there, what is your opinion of nvert racks?

(Message edited by tlb on May 19, 2003)

Chad,

I haven't had a chance to test them personally, but the "Go Wakin" crew has been using them for awhile now, and they love them. I know one of the guys, and he told me they're the nicest pair of racks he's ever used.

I'm planning on buying a couple and using my existing Wake Designs racks as spares for the top of my tower.

Aaron,
I sent you an e-mail about flight clips I have for sale. Just e-mail me back if you are interested!

masonlakerider 05-27-2003 10:48 PM

Cliff- what's the "Go Wakin" crew? Do you think that means a lot coming from them or what?

Chad,

Check out Gowakin.com to see who they are. I tend to trust there opinions due to the amount of riding they do, and there honest opinions on the product they've tested.

Good luck

Thanks Cliff...by the way that's a sweet boat you've got there. My buddy's got an '03 and I love it...we just went out on it again yesterday and that wake is insane (it looks like a brickwall) with a little ballast!

masonlakerider 06-01-2003 10:42 AM

I think I'm gonna go ahead and get the NVerts...Thanks for all your help!

tlb 06-02-2003 7:53 AM

Chad, Please let us know how you like them and what you first impressions are. thanks

masonlakerider 06-02-2003 10:16 PM

I'll do that...I'm pretty excited to try em out!

Chad,

funny how things work out. I fried one of my racks on a tree branch last weekend, so I ordered a set of the Nvert racks myself. I wish I had the money for the light bar they sell, I think it's trick.

masonlakerider 06-03-2003 9:18 PM

That's GREAT! I hope you enjoy 'em!

I used to have a 2000 Air Nautique and now have upgraded to a 2003 SANTE. Comparing the two different racks from these boats: I both like and dislike the SANTE racks.

On the plus side:
The boards are more vertical, keeping them closer to the outline of the boat. This is important to me because I pull up next to the houseboat and if the boards stick out they are the first thing to bang into the houseboat when wakes come by.

Just like the older Nautique racks, when you take the boards off the boat is even narrower, again an issue for pulling up next to the houseboat or rafting up with another wakeboard boat. I have seen racks that have rack structure outside where the boards would be such that removing the boards would not reduce your tower width any, I would avoid these.

The shock cords are stout and would be easy to replace when they eventually bite the dust.

They look real nice, especially since I had them powder coated blue to match the tower.

On the negative side:

I find it harder to get the boards into the rack.

The shock cords always drop down into the way when you are trying to get the boards on the rack.

The inside board chafes against the tower, primarialy the bindings against the front vertical tube. I have already resigned myself to adding some sort of chafe collar to that spot on the tower before it rubs through the paint.

I went with the Nverts. I've been using the NVERT racks on the new boat for almost a week now and THEY ARE AWESOME!!! They look pretty sick too!

wakejunky 06-13-2003 6:49 AM

What do they say???? KISS, Keep It Simple Stupid. Simple is much easier to deal with when you have problems. The NVERTS although a kick ass concept are very mechanical and with anything mechanical it's gonna break eventually.
Even though the Flight Clips may not be the best solution they are simple and will provide many years of usage.

Chris
No Slip Gator Grip
www.wakejunky.com
