I have a 4 chan amp it's 800 watts total so 200 per chan.. From what I have read on the site so far I will put the evids in parallel and then bridge them. But it is a 4 chan amp can I bridge/combine all four channels ? oh evids are 8 ohm

Thanks

I've never heard of that being done. You mean you will bridge all of the channels together into two wires and then run them parallel to the Evids? I guess I don't know why you can't do it. This would then give 400 Watts to each Evid running at 4 ohm. I run 250 to each Evid and get better sound than when I ran 150 to each one. I think they are only rated for 300 Watts, however.

Let me know how it goes.

(Message edited by talltigeguy on April 06, 2005)

The reason why I wanted to run all the channels (and I may be wrong on this) leaving channels empty is a problem, so I wanted to utalize all channels.

Run one Evid into each of two bridged channels.

Bridging your four channel amp into two channels running one 8 ohm Evid on each channel will load the amp exactly the same way four 4 ohm speakers would. It's better to have too much power then not enough. Will the amp run both bridged channels in high pass? The Evids do best when they are crossed at about 100hz in high pass. If you cannot use the amp's XO then you might want to look into putting a 150 or 200uF cap inline to each Evid. They will run stronger this way, the low bass will kill them, they can't make sound there anyway.
I have my Evid's run in paralell to bring them down to 4 ohm and I am running a Rockford Fosgate P5002 bridged on them. That puts 250 watts RMS on each of them at a 4 ohm load. I also have them crossed at 90. They sound great that way. I just added a Audio Control Matrix line driver to my system and it is amazing how much better everything sounds. I have turned the gains down all the way on all my amps. I should have added a line driver a long time ago.
