I was in South Africa last year and got to surf Supertubes at Jeffrey's Bay. Got my first barrel. Unreal experience!

Flowrider is fun but nothing like surfing....

Ya, it definitely looks like it has a big learning curve and is quite a bit different, but still looks like a blast. A lot of the same skill set would apply. I would like to try it as I have only wakesurfed and never ocean surfed before, but that is definitely on my list of things to do as well.
The artificial waves in that link from the UAE and Spain look a lot more fun and legit than a flowrider.

Pacific side of Costa Rica is nice. I surfed it about 11 years ago
