I want to put more weight in my B52. I ride with three people and ballasts full but want a bigger wake. How much more should i get?

what year is the boat? Triple up or only rear ballast?

(Message edited by tonality on May 30, 2007)

07 just dual ballast 1600 pds

Toss 5 or 600 lbs up in the bow. If you have playpen, put it across the front, if it's open just run it along the floor. I fill both rears, 600 in the front (a long bag, comes almost to the cooler from the nose) and then let a tiny bit out of the right to balance things out with 2 of us and it's a perfect size and hard as heck.

ive got an 07 and your stock ballast should be 1800 but any way i put 500 in lead in nose under seats and 400 in rear lockers and 200 on port side next to the batterys because there is usually just 2 of us most of the time anyway. i wanted the wake a little bigger but also a little mellower is why i have a little more up front but the boat handles weight really well so the steeper you want it the more you will want to put in the back. also you will probably want to re prop it i pretty muck hade to

I've got the 07 too.. yup 1800 lbs. I don't add any weight cept people... the wake is pretty dope as is.

mmmm...purdy

mred 05-31-2007 5:31 PM

if i had a few more people i probably wouldnt add the weight that i do but it is usually just two of us but on the few times that there is a big group in the boat you are right you really dont need it and i usually only fill ballast around half way

longgonebon 05-31-2007 10:53 PM

that makes sense. I've actually been thinkinb about getting some lead or pop products, the nose could defninitely use some permanent weight. I like the wake just fine but would like to bring the nose down a little. Also, would be good to have some easy movable weight for surfing.

i just got two 350 pds sacs for the back lockers and a 540 for the nose and what a difference it made!
