has this board been completely discontinued or has the shape come back under a new name?

New name, it is now the Kink and is last years Absolute shape.

It is called the Kink. The Pure also has pretty much the same base as the Flame also. However, it is not last years Absolute. The Kink / Flame shape is an 04 Absolute.

Jarrod, I thought that the '07 Pure had some subtle changes from the '06 Pure ('04 Absolute)?

Same bottom design, new top deck and new tip/tail profile. Rides identical.

Is the 03/04 shape the same (absolute?) <BR> <BR>I rode the pure monday night and MAN I liked it way better than my 07 platty absolute.

There is a very small difference between the 03-04 shape, the one clear change is the tip/tail profile changes a little. Also you can see the tiny outer fin shrinks even more in 04. The biggest changes in the Absolute came in 02-03 and then in 04-05, the boards rode dramatically different after each of these years. <BR> <BR>Try the Kink, it is the same shape but has better glass and should give you a little extra pop.
