right now its between hyperlight apex 2008, hyperlight parks 2006, and liquid force omega 2008.
let me know which one you think i should get and any other boards you think i should get.

hawkeye7708 10-13-2008 6:39 PM

I can't say much about the other two, but i can speak about the Parks.
In my opinion, it's the fastest, most aggressive board I've ever ridden. I found the pop almost too much. I had had a hard time getting it dialed in, and while I would go massive at times, i began to get gun shy as i never knew what was coming. I switched to a Premier after I broke my parks, and started going bigger and progressing more. I'd look more into the Apex and Omega. Just my opinion.

stets69 10-13-2008 7:45 PM

yea i was thinking that the board was too old any way

watson_134_lf 10-13-2008 8:05 PM

all depends on your riding style....
i know the omega has more of a mellow 3 stage, and when i rode it i got really consistant pop, but not as much height.... if you rode the omega for a couple years, id switch to the watson after a while

I've got an '06 Parks 140 I'll sell ya on the cheap!

-Steve

I have been riding the Parks since 2004 and really like the board. At times you don't quite know what you are going to get when you hit the wake. There were times I went huge and times I felt I could not get off the wake. I just recently rode continuous and Subtle three-stage rockers and found my riding step up a notch with height and consistency. If you have a chance to demo boards I would go that route before you choose your next board. Good luck and keep us updated.

today there is an 08 Faction on boardersbestbuy.com for $139, I believe. I've heard some good reviews on that board here.

helix_rider 10-14-2008 9:09 AM

Yeah, I'd jump on that faction way before the 3 boards you listed...especially at that price.

stets69 10-14-2008 2:21 PM

thanks i'll look it up

The Faction is a great board, I rode it all year and have enjoyed it. Not the fastest board but definitely one of the smoothest riding and landing boards out there. Decent pop and just an overall great feel.

^^^^What he said!

up

stets69 10-15-2008 8:01 PM

do you think i'd be fine with the jr. faction i weigh 135 and am 5'8

stets69 10-19-2008 6:55 PM

what do you guys think about the hyperlite murray or the liquid force trip?

matteoh 10-19-2008 7:58 PM

why the variety of boards? its like your picking random boards out of no where. is it just that the boards are available to you or are you just looking at boards? Also don't worry to much about getting a 3-stage board if your gonna try and be consistent with it. That's the hardest part of 3-stages. My Ibex gave me a little trouble but i'm use to it now.

stets69 10-20-2008 2:38 PM

all i want is a consistant board that can get good air and these are the boards that are available to me oh and thanks for the tip about the three stage

knarbar 10-20-2008 2:46 PM

Go demo one. Check out the new murray. Supposed to be very smooth and fast. Meaning when you wana get it on edge its there and it will release off the wake very quickly. Alot of it has to do with your riding and style and what level you ride at. If your just starting out. Try an omega. Its usually sold as an entry level package at a good price. If your looking for more than that, try a murray, premier, lyman, shane, maybe even a marek. Support your local shop, go demo one then when you like it buy it.

mikes 10-20-2008 4:20 PM

I have an Omega.I also have a Witness. If you are thinking either one of those,I'd go for the Witness.I'm not very good(W2Ws and a few grabs&180's),but I can tell you the Witness does everything better and it's very smooth.I've seen them for under $200 lately.

matteoh 10-20-2008 4:22 PM

ok well the parks is definitely out because that has no consistency what so ever. the Apex and the omega are about the same in terms of rocker so if your going between those i would suggest the Apex just because im a hyperlite guy(I'm getting the 09 marek boots soon). If i was to pick thought i would definitely suggest the murray because shaun murray always makes his board the most user friendly because of the continuous rocker and the fin setup. try to demo the 08 135 and 140 to see which you like better. being 135 i would suggest 135cm for you.

lfrider92 10-20-2008 4:27 PM

my dads old board is the 2008 trip. he doesnt like it and i hate it. so he bought the watson.
if your looking for a pro model check the lyman and watson out. both great boards

stephan 10-20-2008 4:57 PM

Stetson, the Junior Faction is a different shape. Trust me you want the regular Faction. I'm 5'8" and weigh 150, I ride the 138 and don't feel it's too big a board. When you break it down the difference between 132 and 138 is 2.4 inches, not a huge difference. If you are in CA, I'd be happy to let you borrow my board or I might be getting rid of it soon.

stets69 10-20-2008 9:26 PM

Thanks to you guys I've limited my choices down the the apex, the murray, the faction, and the witness. The only thing is I don't know where to demo. I live in Tampa florida, if you guys have any tips to look up in google or links to sites that would help me out alot
