I have ridden on I think its like a 2002 CWB Pure board for the past couple of seasons. I like it but now that I am starting to get a little better, I am having serious issues landing my inverts. Whats just a good all around board that is sick on landings. I really dont have enough time to go out and try a bunch of boards...any suggestions?}

LF substance....

ryan_k 12-15-2005 7:09 PM

Liquid Force substance. But i have been riding nothing but good things with shawn watsons new pro model board. (He used to ride the substance)

I would go with a CWB Absolute its a good all around board. Good for inverts and spins. Substance is a good board also but it lands a little hard and can some times buck you off balance on landings. One more thing is best thing to do is demo demo we all ride different.

New Murray, Pillow soft landings with BIG pop.

thane_dogg 12-15-2005 8:36 PM

I don't think your board is what's stopping you from landing an invert.

cjluke 12-15-2005 8:53 PM

You might be right, but I really do feel like the pure board is not forgiving on landings at all...just looking for a board that might make them a little softer

Hyperlite Motive is a GREAT board to learn anything on!

If you have been on the pure and transition to the new absolute shouldn't be bad. Still made by cwb. If you want good landings go for a little longer board.

innov8 12-16-2005 8:09 AM

I dont think anybody made a soft landing board in 02. Try an 05 or 06 Marius or Trancend. or for that matter an 05 or 06 Absolute. They all have soft landings.

guido 12-16-2005 8:09 AM

The Pure's have always been dope. I'm riding the '06 now. They are just older Absolute's with new graphics. The Pure, Flame or Absolute will be easy for you to transition to. IMO the newer the Absolute shape the more the pop goes up instead of out. They have gotten slower and poppier (is that a word) over the years. The year I went from the '05 Absolute (liked that board a lot) to the '06 Absolute Plat (liked that board better) to the '06 Pure (loved how fast it was). They have all been great boards.

Also for honorable mention: the Substance is sick as well, but lands pretty hard.

bnice 12-17-2005 11:18 PM

HAHAHAHA. . . ah the tubelite. Love that thing.

Give the LF Substance a try

mjmurphy53711 12-18-2005 7:48 AM

i must be the only one who thinks the older absolutes are slower.

jarrod 12-18-2005 8:35 AM

Mike, yep!

BTW...3-5 feet of fresh expected in tahoe! I'm riding tomorrow. Call me when you get settled.

rmcronin 12-18-2005 9:45 AM

Maybe your board is too small for your size. Bigger board=softer landings. Simple physics
