The other day I was screwing around w/my boat and stepped on one of my bow seats and split a seam about 8" long. The stitching broke in between some of the stripes. I was really cold out, so the vinyl was hard.

Any idea what an upholstry shop usually charges for something like that? Nothing else ripped, just the stitching.

I paid about 65 bucks to have a bow cushion
redone.
They usually will take the whole cushion apart,
sew the seam them re-assemble the cushion.
You'll never see the damage as long as they
put it back together right. Make sure you use
a very reputable shop. My dealer fixed a seam
under warranty and the shop did a horrible job.
They sewed the seam up just fine. It was the re-assembly they screwed up royaly. It look like it
was put together by a child. I got a whole new sundeck from the factory though.

I have some split seams in my CC. On mine, the vinyl is torn and impossible to repair. The upholstry shop recommend by the dealer quoted $200 per seat bottom to fabricate and install new skins. I ended up buying the factory skins from the dealer ($125 or so per) to get a perfect match. I think the shop wants $75 each to install. I'm in the Bay Area...so the prices are probably higher than most of the country...

If the seam simply came apart w/o tearing the vinyl, then the cost would be close to the "install" price above...$75 per.
