Show me your wake, i/o or DD or VD !!!
brand, model , weight and people on the boat !!!

hamkj 06-02-2005 8:56 AM

2004 Sky Supreme V220 - Driver, (shhh... no spotter), 2500lbs, 20mph, rope length 75ft.

I was driving... turned around and took a quick shot with the camera.

Wake is clean all the way back for an 85 foot rope. Wake is very thick and hard and stays clean even when you add more weight. Ballast fills 2500lbs in less than 10 minutes.

Have a great year of riding.

pierce_bronkite 06-02-2005 9:53 AM

2500lbs @ 20 mph?? How come the wake is not washing over? With that much weight most boats that I have been in need at least 21mph to keep the wake clean.

Is your speedometer off maybe? Nice looking wake though.

schmo 06-02-2005 10:14 AM

Yes, not to be a skeptic (well, ok, maybe a small one) but I don't think I have ever seen a wake clean to 85ft with 2500lbs at 20mph... that is very slow for that weight/length.

joe_788 06-02-2005 11:22 AM

That Supreme wake looks nice! The rope looks a lot shorter than 85 feet though. The rider looks to be barely out of reach of the spray. Perhaps it was sold as an 85 foot rope, but all 4 of the extensions were missing??

Seriously though, even quite a bit back from the rider, the wake looks good and clean!

krbaugh 06-02-2005 2:08 PM

have you ever run a GPS in the boat at 20 mph?
My guess you are going faster

w0rm 06-02-2005 2:26 PM

Kyle great too see someone else from Penticton on here... Are you the same kyle that we got our tower through? (Eddie put us in touch with you) If so send me an email at mike_foster@shaw .ca. Im looking to pick up a pair of board racks for it.

hamkj 06-02-2005 2:32 PM

This is the one reason I bought this boat. Most boats I test drove I had to run at 22-23mph. I am able to teach new riders with half the ballast at 17mph. We haven't used the GPS this year to test speed, but we did when I first picked up the boat last year.

Pierce... the rope length in the picture is 75ft as stated in my post. You can ride at longer lengths.

The wake is narrow than most boats I test drove... but the main reason I liked this boat is the clean wake... if not properly weighted (it will lean to the drivers side) as you will see in many Supreme posts. But I have it pretty dialed in.

When I have the full ballast and 4-5 people onboard, we are having to go up to 22mph.

Even with the Supreme models...

V208 had the biggest stock ballast wake, but there is a point where there is too much weight and you get the curl happening.

V230 was round. Could not get a nicely shaped ramp no matter what I did.

V220 was my choice... More weight... bigger wake... same shape... and clean!!!

When you are in the area... give me a call and come for a ride!

sanger got hugesss wakes !!!!
more than CC or MC it seems i am true ??

radikal 06-08-2005 9:28 PM

or supreme i think i miss this one !! ;p

damned04 06-10-2005 9:26 AM

J-rod, we were going 15 and im pretty sure the rope was a lot shorter than 80' so i dunno what you see funny in that pic

jarrod 06-10-2005 9:48 AM

No offense Damned. I was poking fun at the fact that your wake was so huge because of the slow boat speed. Actually my first thought was that you might be making things harder on yourself going that slow.

kybool 06-10-2005 9:48 AM

I do have to say those two sanger wakes look sweet

hamkj 06-10-2005 9:56 AM

Due to budget... I alway "look" at MC, Tige, BU, CC SAN, Supra etc... And then I try to find another boat that is close to the performance and styling that I like... So that is why this time around... I chose Supreme.

The one thing I didn't tell you... the 2500lbs of ballast... is not water... its not lead... not sand... can anyone guess?
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Bags of money I saved. With all of the options on my boat.... I spent at least 10k-15k less than others I looked at.

I like nice boats... but I also like money... it tends to grow in value quicker than my boat does.

damned04 06-10-2005 10:36 AM

J-rod, ok i see what you were trying to say. That's actually my neighbor in that pic not me. I ride at 17 comfortably

ccwhite 06-10-2005 10:39 AM

Darren - A v210 w/ 13 people + 1200lbs of ballast?!?! Did you sink that poor little boat? I didnt think you could get that many people in that boat!

Nice huge wake though

big_ed_x2 06-10-2005 11:00 AM

Kyle ~ I also like money and it tends to grow in value quicker then my boat does.

NEWSFLASH bud....The dollar is dropping quicker then the value of my boat, maybe you should of got an MC.hahahahahaLOL

hamkj 06-10-2005 12:09 PM

I guess it wont matter when I capsize the boat... all the money will be floating around the lake... and then it wouldnt matter what boat I would have purchased...

Hey the dollar dropping helps us Canadians when buying a tournament boat... but prices are still going up every year.. no matter how strong our dollar is...

Oh well...

Enjoy your fancy x-2.... My favs are the x45 and svfara sv696 and tige 22i type r... don't know why... i just like those boats. i think i may like the epic bnoat too when it goes into production... but who knows...

as long as it floats.. i am pretty happy.

krbaugh 06-10-2005 12:35 PM

hamkj 06-10-2005 1:45 PM

Good point Kevin... All I know is that when I bought in 2000... I thought the $CAD (70 cent dollar) was bad and I only paid $30's CAD for a new boat... then we reached highs the past year and a bit... and you can find a new boat up here for under mid $50's CAD. As for the CAD vs USD... I think it was ahead of inflation... so I am thinking the local dealerships are doing very well... Stronger CAD dollar and low interest rates... someone is making so good coin...

But yes... I know the USD is climbing back... thanks for the link... interesting read...

Hey you gotta check out the post by Drew and him having problems with his trailer brake locking up while in reverse... it is hilarious!

wakepirate 06-15-2005 11:11 PM

97 bayliner 17.5 with 135 I/O, no ballast, 4 guys....usually much more weight, just no time to find it this day

wakepirate 06-15-2005 11:57 PM

May I add, that be advised, a 17.5 boat is gonna have the same effect on a rider when it has 5 or 6 peeps in it as a 23 ft with more riders. I don't mean that a bigger boat isn't gonna throw a bigger wake necessarily, however, displacement is what it is, a spade is a spade. A smaller boat takes up less space in the water, however it's buoyancy isn't as great as a bigger boat, therefore with the same amount of people....walllahhhhh, simple mathematics

xtremrider 06-16-2005 12:49 PM

we alos have a supreme, and it has a killer wake. just massive with stock ballest and 3 people in the boat, if you put more weight in there it is even bigger. The big help is the boats weight is 3950lbs, so it heavy in the first place.

guido 06-16-2005 1:26 PM

Mmmmm.... I love Sangers. Man those wakes look wicked. I hope I don't ever miss my DLX. I think my "fancy" new X-2 will make a nasty wake too, but its gonna definitely take a little more weight to make it happen.

bambamski 06-19-2005 10:36 AM

Doesn't matter if he can ride, I'm sure he's 10 time better than I am, look at his boat though! It's the uglies thing I've ever seen. He's a wally that can ride and go duck hunting in the same day! Does he have a trolling motor on the back as well? Does he go bass fishing with the boat or does he put it away and go noodling...

2step 06-19-2005 10:39 AM

Pat- I think its a Military thing not a duck hunting thing.
Pierce/Matt- I agree that mofo can ride! and I also think it is a sweet looking boat but then again I'm military

For those that have not seen it here is Chris Wynn doing an insane trick. boat hop, Crow Mobe:
http://www.wakepics.com/view_single.php?medid=15425

(Message edited by 2step on June 19, 2005)
