What are your top 3 tricks you are throwing right now and what is the next big trick you are working on? Since I am still workig on dialing in w2w jumps, curious what other posters are stomping and working towards?
|
1)HS 180 finally getting them more then not.
2)TS 180 days I'm stompin and days I'm just not commiting.
3) halfcab I can landed 95% it's more getting nice pop.

Been working on HS 360 but not lately that much...kicking my a$$

ohh and front hand grabs SUCK!!any tips for those would be appreciated.

1. HS Back Roll
2. HS 180 (melon grab)
3. TS 180 (indy grab)

still pissed I have not landed a HS 3 yet. keep missing the handle. very frustrating. am going to land a 3 and a tantrum by the beginning of spring. one thing I really want to work on though, is getting some style. would like to clean up everything in general.
|
1) HS/TS 360 (yeah, thats two I know)
2) Backroll
3) Scarecrow

Just rode behind a nicely weighted Mobius this weekend and threw my first scarecrow in probably 5 or 6 years. I haven't really rode much behind the boat in the last five years, but riding behind the Mobe with that huge wake really makes me want to start riding behind a boat a lot more (as opposed to the cable, which I ride all the time).

I think that the next tricks I will go for are the TS front roll, TS backroll, and front flip. Plus work on more variety of grabs. Unfortunately I'm going to need to find somebody to ride with because that sweet Mobe when back to the Keys today.

BTW, if you read the forum Sparky, thanks for the great pulls! And I hope your house is fared up well under Wilma's wrath.

1) hs fs off axis 3s
2) switch hs nosegrab 3s
3) ts 5s

Working on cab 5s, hs 5s (landed, but not consistent), and whatever else comes to mind.
|
1) Big HS Meloncholy into the flats
2) Indy TS W2W w/ good pop
3) TS 180

Was just really getting good pop and starting to try TS 3's before the season ended. Hopefully I'll get to a cable park a few times this winter to see what I can do.
|
"ohh and front hand grabs SUCK!!any tips for those would be appreciated."

Really watch your handle position into the wake. Then you'll be able to take whatever hand off you want no problem.
|
Whirlybird, HS OA 540, and maybe indy ts or bs 180
|
Damn backroll still can't ride it away
Varation's to HS 180
all my grabs and poking and tweaking them.

Starting to try HS/BS 180.
|
tindy grab
fashion air
wave to the boat
|
TS 180 W2W
Switch HS W2W
Tantrum

Closest I am coming to landing any of those would be the switch HS W2W. After hurting myself in another sport that basically took out my ankle for weeks, I rode a lot of wakeskate and my switch riding improved a lot. I can almost ride switch as comfortable as regular.....another season and I hope to be equal from both sides of the wake. I always dedicate half my run to riding switch now.

|
TS Front rolls. I land flat on my back (under rotate) or I spin off axis.
|
sw fives, cant get around past 450 (second handle pass)

toeside wake to wake, i just cant do it.

www.wakecoupons.com

Mike, you are trying sw 5 but can't go W2W TS??
Ed, I had a friend of mine from the cable park go out with me last Sunday. He threw his first raley behind the boat but he can't do a TS W2W. In fact his only tricks were a HS W2W and Raley!
|
1) backroll, absoulutely stomping it
2) tantrum, getting more consistent
3) multiple grabs
-sad thing is i have never done a 180, i have rode switch for probably a total of 30 seconds, and i have landed one wrapped 360 (4 years ago), sad, huh?
|
Tings,

Sounds like the way my riding is gonna go. I just started going w2w this year and that is the extent of my trick list, unless you count faceplant got lots of variations of those. But I can't get riding switch down. What makes matter worse in my head is I ride a snowboard opposite my wake riding. Can't bring it onto the water. One sport one way, another sport the other but never switch. Now thats sad.

Raley & Raley to toeside (Krypt) one wake though (driverside Heelside)
Hoochie & OHH (driverside Heelside)
S-Bend (driverside Heelside)
wake rolls both sides
3's both heel and toe(toe from passenger)
tantrum (driverside)
front flip (driverside)
Toeside front (Passenger Side)
Toeside Backroll to toeside - Passenger side
heel side roll to reverts both wakes
"Blind" 180 - pardon the language
Scarecrow - this one's a hit or miss with me.

Working on 5's both toe and Heel, Having problem...Don't think wake's big enough.

TS BR to TS passenger side? HS driverside S-bend? am I missing something here? and which boat doesn't have the big wake? i'm confused... someone help me with this one
|
Nacho,
I should of been more clear...S-Bend + Double up = Landed Trick
When I display the terms Passenger side or driver side that is the side of the boat with which I am executing the invert from...

Big Wake? Not really, 1996 Mastercraft P.S 190 with one fat Sac not filled all the way because it ruiens transmissions.
|
big ed....

yep. Funky thing there, used to have toeside w2w and toeside w2w 1's......took a board to the head and the stitches must have screwed up the part of my brain that handles toeside edging. I try, and just cant get it back.

Gonna take some lessons on that next season, I am the biggest heelside hero you have ever seen.

www.wakecoupons.com
|
hahah...like my buddy Stalker-Kyle. He does HS fronts, tantrums, rolls (all grabbed)...raley, krypt, OHH, HS 360, but he can't jump the wake toeside. Although, ocassionally he stomps a big crow or TS front.
|
My homie lands that crow clean dean, problem is I have a hard time landing anything heelside after doing an invert from the passenger side of the boat... I may as well attempt the crow mobe or bring it the other way for the elephant..Either way my knees buckle and hurt really bad (past experience)...Any suggestions on the crow...I'm thinkin' maby release my rear hand from the handle as soon as I leave the wake?
|
"I'm thinkin' maby release my rear hand from the handle as soon as I leave the wake?"
That's pretty much what I do. Well, actually it's your front hand, which then becomes your rear hand once you finish.
|
Jeffrey: Trying using the terms Heelside or Toeside.

HS BS 180.
HS FS 180 (Nose, Slob, Melan).
TS FS 180.
HS and TS Grabs.

Working on...

Backroll
HS FS and BS 3s.

Want to try...

TS BS 180s.
TS Frontroll.
Get up
Stay up
Don't get hurt.

hs and ts 3s and I really like doing backside shifty tailgrabs all boned out, feels pretty cool, tweaking a roast beef or stalefish feels very rewarding as well

working on : backrolls forever... tantrums, ts backrolls, hs and ts 5s (preeeety close) O/A hs 3s, backside 180s, backside 3s
I guess my problem is I don't like falling and often I'd rather just have fun than agonize over learning a trick (which often helps me learn stuff faster)
