malibu electronic in dash display not working

I have an 06 Malibu 247. I just had a new rudder put on it, went to the gas station, turned on the battery, put in the key to find out how much gas I needed to put in and saw that the electronic display wasn't working. The shallow depth alarm turned on and normally I push the "E" button on the display to turn it off but it wasn't working either. None of the buttons along side the display work. I looked in back where they did the rudder work and didn't see any loose wires. I also checked the circuit breakers and then looked under the instrument panel, not that I would have had an idea of what I would need to look for other than loose wires:confused:, but everything there looked fine too. Now what? I'm supposed to take a bunch of people out tomorrow to celebrate the rudder getting fixed :( Will we have to just old school the speed without the speed control?

Make sure your safety lanyard is plugged in good? It seems like mine does that if the lanyard is not connected, although not sure about
if the depth guage would still alarm or not....

I checked the lanyard and it wasn't that...so I crawled around some more and found a loose wire under the dash...put it back in...and voila! I'm back in business. Thanks though! I can hear my dad, "Look closer the first time!"
