I will be installing ballast this winter on a 99 205V. Going with Pro-X series v-drive bags in the back. Thinking about a custom Pro-X sac for the locker. Their standard locker sac is 62" length and the locker is 79" long. I will need a little space for a small pump.

Anybody else done this?

Have a buddy who had a custom sac built for his 06 x-2, it works great. Fly High makes a great product.

I have the same thing planned out. I was thinking of putting the pump in a battery box to isolate it from the bag.

I used a seat bottom sack from fly high for my locker; but that was for a bu.

Matt, I was thinking of going with the seat bottom sac, but it is also 62" long. It will certainly fill out all of that space, but I have another foot of locker to use.

Adam, any idea what your friend paid for his?

Rich This link has a section under wakeboard products for custom sized sacs.
http://home.comcast.net/~lreinsma/custom.htm
hope it helps

I had custom sacs made last year from Boarders Paradise. Unfortunately they no longer offer custom sacs. Definitely the way to go if you want to maximize your ballast in odd shaped compartments.

Fly High's sacs are top notch, but very pricey.

I had mine built by http://www.gethighsports.net/

I'm pleased with it. It doesn't 'feel' as strong as the Pro X stuff, but it's plenty for the locker sac. Plus it's built to the dimensions of the locker (actually came in oversized), so it maximized my water/weight capacity.

Rich , I wanna say it was around $350. Best way to know is just give flyhigh a call with approx dimensions. They are not cheap, but IMO the sacs are worth every penny.

Here are a couple pics of my center bag.

Paul,
I followed some of your install of the ballast system on your boat, nice job! What is your opinion of the "waterbed" type fittings on this custom locker sack? It appears as you have just used hose clamps to get a good seal, have you been happy with that setup? I'm considering a system similar to yours in my '99 CC Pro Air (direct drive) and it has a huge ski locker in it as well, I believe it's 70" x 16" x 15" or so? Anyone else know the dims off the top of their heads? Anyway, most locker sacks I'm seeing won't be close in size, and I think the ability to carry extra weight in the locker will help keep the boat balanced.

BTW, anyone know of sacks that would be 28"-30" x 16" x 16"? I'm looking to put two in the rear storage area, and getting rid of the hard tanks in there.

thanks,
Jack

Jack,
I didn't use the waterbed type fittings. I used some sch.40 pvc hose barb fittings (pictures attached). The setup works great and is extremely secure. Once installed, I used a pipe clamp to secure it and duct tape to guard against the sharp edges of the pipe clamp from rubbing on the bag (not shown in pictures).
As for rear sacs, check out the Fly High stuff.

(Message edited by P-hat in Cincy on October 13, 2006)

Thanks Adam for the pricing and Paul for the pics. Paul, I have looked at your system and install before..., very impressive. I am leaning towards the Pro-X custom locker sac for the simple reason that I could put a couple of slalom skis on top of the deflated bag and not worry about hurting it.

I may just go with the bag designed to go under rear seats. It won't occupy all of the length, but I have 4 80# lead weights I can use under the bow seats.
