Hey just wondering about some you other guys that have had knee surgery or ACL replacements. How long before you started riding again! I rode a couple of weeks ago and jumped the wake just 4 times and did a few grabs...my hamstring is really week! I had a bad pull just from doing that! I did have the hamstring surgery to.

IMHO just roam it up for a while and really go back to basics. I have noticed my hamstring area being quite sore as well. <BR> <BR>Looking forward this summer, I dont intend on getting back to prior form until August (which would be 8 months out). Until then I am just planning on going back to basics and filling the holes in my riding, switch, bs spins etc. <BR> <BR>IMHO the roam is a great board for situations like yours. It allows you to really have a lot of fun on the water without going w2w a bunch. Try roaming around for a while and just have fun enjoying the pull.

I went surfing about two months post surgery, nothing crazy, just got up and rode. Acl and replacement and minicus (spelled wrong)repair. The $1,000 brace helps too! I wont even bring my wakeboard because i have no will power to stay off it.

Judge it by how you can do other things. Can you easily squat your body weight on the repaired leg? Can you jump up and down the 36" box no problem? I'm 5 months off a patella graft and just starting to play basketball, but I know I'm a ways off the board, probably July. If the strength and size (thigh diameter) isn't there, don't be stupid. As my doc told me when I asked when I'd be ready to ride, he said if I have to ask I'm at least a month out. It will be blatantly obvious when you are ready.

I haven't got knee surgery but my dad got his whole ACL replaced about two and a half years ago. He wasn't able to ride for like a year and a half. He also states that his knee was just as good if not better before the surgery.
