what is the transition/effect used though out the video? the orange/yellowish coloring that flashes between some shots.

Go on youtube and type in (how to film burn) for either premier/final cut etc

Most links will have the actual film burn downloads and then when you upload the footage into the editing program, you can tweak the burn to your liking.
