you gotta hate Florida

Yesterday, Sunday found a quiet canal and rode butter without seeing another boat for 2 hours.

Air: 85 degrees
Water: 83 degrees.
:D

Nah naah nha nha boo boo.

wake_upppp 04-11-2011 10:22 PM

I prefer air 85, water 70. Much more refreshing!

cwb4me 04-12-2011 3:36 AM

Yeah 85 air and 72 water perfect.BUTTER always perfect.

envy might be a better word than hate.

but while i might envy extraordinary riding water and access to everything wake i am grateful for that envy.

i don't have to feel so bad about my shallow bag of tricks and i can take a little more pride in my riding level knowing that i only get to ride about 20-30 times a year vs. 200-300 times a year.

now i know wakeboarding is not about being better than the next guy, and that is just the natural man speaking out, but i will reserve any dignity i can ;). Wake is all about having fun and being one with the board and your surroundings (namely the water). For ME, there is no better place to feel that "one-ness" than Lake Powell, even if it means often choppy water, less time, and less comfortable temps during half the year.

ny air - 50
ny water - below 40

still butter and no boats though

California spring, Snowboard today, wake tomorrow!

Only mountains in FL are those huge mountains of trash off the turnpike!

srock 04-14-2011 10:35 AM

Life is full of trade offs and compromise.

sidekicknicholas 04-14-2011 2:32 PM

We still have ice - go to hell.

baitkiller 04-14-2011 3:17 PM

Y'all wouldn't like it anyway.

Nasty salt water.

Stay up North. Everything is better up North.

baitkiller 04-14-2011 3:18 PM

"Only mountains in FL are those huge mountains of trash off the turnpike!"

That is why God invented sisters in Denver with a mountain house and frequent flyer miles.

srock 04-15-2011 6:07 AM

Our single axle trailers with 6 year old tires tells a lot about us. A huge Florida +++ is the number of riders that can be on the water within minutes...and butter at that with no third or stupid flags. Riding is never some "event" that needs to be planned.

A few mountains would sweeten the view but our mountains will never hold snow even if they grow to 12,000 feet.

guido 04-15-2011 10:40 AM

I like the Delta.

xtremebordgurl 04-15-2011 1:48 PM

Not gonna lie, I totally miss the Sunshine state. I love Portland, Maine with all my heart but you can't really top the weather in FL.

greenbass86 04-17-2011 5:22 PM

man that sounds nice.... wish I could get a job down there so I could leave the midwest behind me

ironj32 04-18-2011 7:24 AM

I like 50 deg air, and 41.6 deg water...super radtastic! This MN winter has been HORRIBLE.

same with us. i was waiting for Santa and his sleigh to show up.

baitkiller 04-18-2011 9:53 AM

Well this sucks. i will not be getting my usual lift for the summer. Yesterday I didn't ride because I couldn't get my lazy ass to deal with trailering the boat a 1/2 mile to the ramp, paying 8 dollars then loading the whole thing up again later. Sucks. Man I need to find another lift, I knew I should have bought waterfront when I had the chance.
