I bought a canon vixia HV30. I am struggling to find software that I can edit the footage with. I have an older mac, powerpc processor, and it can't handle the hd quality. iMovie crashes every time. I have a bulky PC with a quad-core processor, so i figured i'd try that. Does anyone edit on a PC? I have tried Adobe Premier CS3 but it doesn't seem to detect my camera. I have also tried Sony Vegas Platinum 8 but with limited results. Can anyone help me with some software that they use on the PC side?

That shoots HDV footage which should work fine with Premiere.

I thought so as well, but when i have the camera connected and on play, i select the HDV folder in Premier setup but there are no subfolders under HDV. so i can not select the HDV option. I don't get it...any ideas?
