Wake Island Watersports - Norcal Cable

Who else is totally stoked about this?

The website is up now and I can't wait to go ride it.

I just really wish Mondays werent my day off :/ I would have bought the pass otherwise

I'm jealous of all the people that live incredibly close to this. If I was in Sac I would have likely bought the season pass and become a cable rat. Either way I can't wait to make trips up as often as possible. Never have I been so happy that my girlfriend is originally from Yuba Duba.

Am I the only one that thinks $1600 for a pass is a little out of line? They r by far the most expensive park in the country and only open 8 months.

stuey 03-01-2013 11:40 AM

$1600 is a bit higher but they are offering presales at $1200. OWC is $1000 and Hydrous is $1200 for comparison, so it's not too crazy

I think it's a little bit of supply and demand - how long has CA been craving a cable park? And.. I'm just guessing here... but I bet you this park had a lot more hoops to jump through to get open and proper permitting. Hoops cost money. By the pictures of it the park looks amazing, can't wait to make my way down and check it out.

Owc is open year round and has lights. Other parks have less expensive options like mid week passes and such.

Id be all over that if i was living in that area. Compared to boat ownership, $1600 for 8 months of usage is nothing!

I also heard day passes will be like a ski ticket ($80ish). Give 'em a break, they are brand new. They'll figure out pricing as they go. The market will set the price. If it's too high, vote with your wallet. My hope is that it isn't super crowded. I'll probably end up making my trips there on weekdays and early/late season. This place looks really fun.

Can't wait. Yes their fees are steep but they likely had to spend a lot more money on permits and other state of CA red tape to even make it happen.
Just wish they would open already.

stephan 03-02-2013 10:44 AM

While the price may be like a lift ticket in Tahoe, they have the benefit of riding from 10-8pm in the summer. I challenge anyone to ride for 10 hours and think they didn't get their $60-70 worth. Especially considering that two 30-minute boat sets cost about that.

For less than that you can own a winch then just go to the park occasionally. You don't have the ramps/rails but being creative and finding new spots is half the fun. check out our page, facebook.com/rexwake
