I really don't know what to think I sent my ronix one bindings in because I had bent both the wakeplates (from mad air on my shred stick) and loose threads and they come back months later and all they do is replace the plates and all the stitching is still unrepaired. I used to rock alot of hyperlite and I would send in my bindings for something and I would get a new pair back/ send my bindings in and get a new pair back/ send my bindings in and get a new pair back; if i were ronix right now I would be trying to match hyperlites customer service but maybe im over reacting

trickyboarder08 01-30-2008 2:43 PM

well, i've been waiting on my Shanes for about 4 months now. I'm now mad though. I sent in some '06s, there sending me some '08 Limited Editions.

Yah, I really got the run around by Ronix. So much so I ended up moving to another brand. I bought their 07 cells and ended up getting a warrantied pair due to massive heal lift. I called Ronix service inquiring about it and got the "gee, none of our team riders have noticed" which is utter bull.

Long story short, I ended up using 3000lb epoxy for the baseplate to the boot. This didnt fix it. Then I through bolted the baseplate to the boot. Which didnt help either. After modding those bindings the warranty is gone (which I knew going in). I am more frustrated with their lack of ability to take ownership of the problem and say "hey, we are having that problem this year, next year will be better, hang in there and we will help you out". Even something so simple as a 10% off as a sign of ownership would have kept me around. I wasnt looking for a handout, just inquiring if there was anything I could do to them to fix the problem for the 07 pair I was riding.

I think a lot of the companies take the attitude like "ohh, we dont know what your talking about" rather than owning up to a situation. Could you imagine if a company came onto a public forum saying "these are the complaints, we want to hear from you, the riders how you would fix what you dont like". Really that would be FREE information for the taking. The key would be follow through, sending out promo sets etc.; but keeping us involved in the process would really create a strong company support. IMHO. A lot of us put these products to the test, they might get some Really good ideas along with building a good following. Thinking outside the box (company) could create some really innovative products.

I SCREAM AMEN TO THAT!!!!!!!!!!

zirb3l 01-30-2008 3:36 PM

i have hear obrian is pretty amazing as far as customer service goes, atleast with their knee boards

bcrider 01-30-2008 3:36 PM

I had the O6 era's I believe it was now. The brown ones and they started ripping after only a couple of rides. When I sent them back at the end of the season the rep at Hyperlite I spoke to said they have had a lot of them returned for the same thing and it was a known problem.

As for Ronix. I have last years cell's and haven't had a problem with them yet and I love'em. After making a few thousand pairs in a factory I am sure every company is going to have some that slide through the cracks and don't hold up as well.

Most company warranties whether it is snowboarding and wakeboarding have a one year warranty from the time of purchase. You can send them back as many times as you want for them to replace/fix on their bill until that date comes around. I was happy when my era's ripped because Hyperlite credited the store I bought them at so I waited through the winter for the Ronix stuff to premeir and I bought the Ronix cell's.

polarbill 01-30-2008 3:57 PM

Simon, they had problems with some of their baseplates on the 07 stuff. The '08 plates should fix that. It sounds like you are mad at them because they didn't just say screw it and give you a brand new pair of '08 bindings. You even mention in your post that you do the exact same thing to Hyperlite. Boy are they lucky to have you as a customer. Are you really mad about not getting your bindings back in the middle of the winter. You profile says you live in North Dakota. Isn't the whole stinking place covered in ice? I use to work at a shop and anytime we had problems they fixed them and were very quick about it.

(Message edited by polarbill on January 30, 2008)

Brett - I was thinking the same thing.

I deal with Ronix on a daily basis and can say nothing but great things about them. I have yet to have an occasion where a customer has had a problem and Ronix not stand behind it 100%.

cavlxenvy 01-30-2008 8:03 PM

^^^^ agreed with CBK.

And last I checked, molding the liners does not void your warranty. If you want to avoid heel lift, use the j-bars. Thats what they are for.

jenk2board 01-30-2008 8:11 PM

I was impressed with Ronix customer service. I had a pair of 07 one's and the liner came out on a hard fall. Sent them in and got a brand new pair of 08's.

clearlakescott 01-30-2008 8:25 PM

i think part of the problems is people keep ordering stuff online. If I took my stuff into Performance Ski and Surf with a problem they would fix it right there. I never have to deal with a manufacturer for warranty issues, they do. Works great for me! Thank you Performance!

Guys. Keep in mind that this was Ronix first year... With any company there will be things to improve on in the first year... What you need to keep in mind is that they still have the best product out.. I don't want to argue your frustration and, I have been in your shoes with other company's myself. But, what matters to me is that I have the best product under my feet. I know that I am a better wakeboarder because i switched to a ronix a set up... Don't cheat yourself, it's not the people doing the warranty. It's about the guys that design the boards...

dlwsrider 01-30-2008 8:45 PM

They were very prompt when i broke my laces on my 07 ONEs halfway through the summer, and that was before i started riding for them.

shavis 01-30-2008 9:49 PM

I just had some mad heel lift in my 07 ronix one bindings....and it was over the counter replacement....im very pleased with it all...

Side note: anyone notice the 08 Ones feel stiffer?

liquidmx 01-30-2008 10:03 PM

FWIW My heal lift was being able to lift/flex the entire boot and plate off the board by at least 1 inch. There is a pic floating around here of their team rider doing the same on the slaughter box at a pwt stop.

raftisland 01-30-2008 10:31 PM

i have been riding ronix products for around 6 months now and all i can say is there custumer service is the best out there and they boards and bindings are sick!!

perfski 01-31-2008 2:55 PM

Hey Simon,
Who did you buy your boots through? The dealer you bought them through should take care of the warranty issues. Call the shop you dealt with and get them involved. Ronix is really good about taking care of the issues with the boots, but your first contact should be with the dealer you bought them through. Thats part of their dealer agreement. We've sold a ton of Ronix bindings, and they have always backed us as a dealer and resolved all legit warranty issues.
Good luck, and if you get no where with your dealer email us at sales@perfski.com and we will see what we can do....or send me a message here.

Bill @ Performance.

PS: Scott, thanks for the "love"....glad you got taken care of properly.

norcalbordr 01-31-2008 5:25 PM

I had the 07 one bindings and both inner liners ripped out. I have a good rep though and he was able to get ronix to warranty them. I now have a brand new 08 pair. My advise is to go through the shop where u bought the boots. They have good relationships with the board companies and can get u what u want rather than dealing with someone over the phone

cavlxenvy 01-31-2008 5:53 PM

The One boots are stiffer this year due to the stiffer one piece tongue.

burberry03 02-01-2008 9:46 AM

Hey Brett, yeh actually I plan to go to OWC and thats why I sent my bindings in in the first place. I want bindings to hold up the whole time im there. I sent them into the place I got them and they did send them in. Yeah Ronix has good stuff but I buy ALOT of wakeobards and bindings its not worth my time to mess around with stuff like that; its not like I want free hand outs I just want it to be worth my time. I will just stick to my Liquid Force and Hyperlite stuff.
thanks for letting me know what you guys think

burberry03 02-01-2008 9:49 AM

but I do think ronix has one of the sickest teams EVER!

burberry03 02-01-2008 9:55 AM

Parks (legendary), Harf (amazing), Sharpe (Stylish) EMILY COPELAND.......... WHAT I WOULD GIVE TO BE WITH EMILY COPELAND}

tommysurfs 02-07-2008 9:46 AM

The dealer is your best bet. We have no problems getting service with Ronix. Ryan at the desk is real good but I agree with my friend Bill that you need to go through your shop. Shops have lots of pull since we pay their bills. Good luck.

Tommy Phillips
www.gettommys.com
1-800-592-7547

true........... I am just hoping they hold up for this season.
