I dont like them. They move like crazy.

Move like crazy and the rails twist up on top. Good idea, but doesn't work.

Isn't that by definition then a "bad" idea? |
In theory, it's a great idea (an inflatable rail that is easy to transport) . In real life, that rail doesn't work the way it's supposed to.

Just build your own one, far too much effort with these
|
Yeah they pretty much suck.

Plus, it's 1000.00, on the clearance page.

You're way better off to just build your own floating rail. Get a couple of those square dock floats, build a frame a round them, and build the rail over it. Plus pretty sure this would qualify as a "swim raft" category and you wouldn't need a permit. Could be wrong though. Some friends and I are building one soon for the summer, maybe I'll post up pics of it. plan is to build it all on land (obviously), put it in the water so that its floating high, and pump water into the floats until its sitting pretty low in the water. Hopefully will keep the rail pretty stable in the water. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think most of OWC's rails/sliders are on floats and "sunk" into the water a bit. but yeah, definitely do not go spending $1000 on one of these rave rails. I'd find it hard to believe that one slip across that tube wouldn't slice it right open.
