So what's the deal with buying a winch. I did a google search and I searched this site, but I haven't really found anything except the Grinch Winch. I heard there are other manufacturers, but I can't seem to find them. Any suggestions on which brand/model is best and how much I should plan on spending?

u could check out hypoxicfilms.com or there's another one out there called the pulldozer. but most of the winch's you can buy from a manufacturer are a little weak if u ask me i would suggest just building one on your own "if possible" and throw a bigger engine on it. just my opinion though,

a GRINCH!!!!! it is made by distortion wakeskates. The grinch was used at this years Surf Expo down in Orlando for the rail jam they had...

Build your own... It's cheaper, it's a fun project, and you can build it to your own specs.

-Blake

I agree with Blake. A buddy of mine built one and saved just about 800 or more dollars. Its really cheap, just eaither know how to weld or have a friend who does.

Check out pulldozer, they are top of the line http://www.myspace.com/pulldozer

Not sure if I want to build one, I'll leave that up to the pros. I just want a reliable and proven winch, one that won't break in a few months, you know?

The Pirate Winch is what they used at the black top oasis they said it could pull you 55mph. it pulled pretty good.
