I have a 2001 Xstar (the x1) Any estimates on what it would cost to redo the upholstry?

Also, the carpet material on the floor of the boat has become hard. Any suggestions as far as carpet cleaners are concerned that may bring it back or make it softer?

Thanks

If you did nothing 3500 to 5K with carpet. That is a local cost and includes new seat foam as well. Last winter we re-did a 1993 MC Maristar Vdrive for just under 5K.

We would be in the range of 3500-4000 with new carpet. Price depends on type of material and how much foam needs to be replaced.

Buddy of mine is having the carpet ripped out of his pontoon and line x put in. I would consider that over new carpet.

line-x?? have they ever stepped on a hot line-x truck bed bare-foot??

I think carpet just makes the boat more comfortable, wouldn't trade it for line-x.

i agree line x would look terrible and be rough on the feet. it looks fine in the back of my truck. but there are a bunch of rednecks around here that line x the outside of there trucks and it looks awful

Just normal use of a LineXed bed and it looks bad after a year.

l_b 12-30-2009 8:36 AM

^^^ Agree. I think line x might be the worst idea ever.

trdon 12-30-2009 8:52 AM

linex does do colors other than black.

tampawake 12-30-2009 8:53 AM

Will let you know he got it done on his pontoon boat looks good now.

what about a light colored linex, then put snap in carpet? You would almost get the same result as the newer boats that have snap in on fiberglass. You would just have to take extra time to make the transitions and seams nice prior to coating so everything looks smooth.

Surely someone makes some sort of spray in product that is designed to retain color in high traffic areas.

You can get the interior done 3 colors custom embroidry with mastercraft vinyl done at viper customs in east tn for around 2000-2500 depending on if you need new foam or not and he does amazing work. His number is 865-388-4096

To those who mentioned Copycat Covers, do you have first hand experience. I am really considering this route. He quoted me $1200. for all skins. Said it would be $1500 after new year but they run specials several times a year. I know the job will be alot of work. I'm more interested in hearing about material quality and workmanship.

I should be getting mine back from them today or tomorrow. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I got them back on Friday. I don't have pics yet, and I don't have them installed. I will say that they look great. The workmanship is excellent. I will post some pictures when I get some time.
