So I havent been to the delta in about 7-8 years. Will be bringing my boat home this weekend for fall cleaning-winterizing but am thinking about a weekend at Brannan Island. Just wondering if this is a good area for riding and whether the camping is half way decent. Oh yeah I already know about the sharks and stingrays so skip it.

It can get pretty windy up that way. With the calm fall weather, you migt be OK. I think there is camping on Brannan Isle. A better bet would be to camp at Orwood and ride the South Delta. <BR>It's about 30 minutes or so from Brannan Isle by car.

Personally I like camping and launching from Brannon. Quicker in and out than a lot of other launches. And the camp sites are good size. Last time I camped and launched all weekend I had no problems. If the water was choppy to the right, I just went left from the launch! Nothing against the others(Orwood has a beautiful launch, but less impressive camp site to me)they should be less crowded now that the summer is winding down. This makes for a quicker in and out.
