Well it seems to never end..... I thought I would share some of the things I've done to my Malibu over the last couple of months. I always seem to just jump head first into projects not thinking about how far I'm gonna take them. I had the windows tinted 20%, I'm powder coating the window frames, made rings and installed RGBs in the sub box, cup holders , and wakesetter badges. powder coated the diamond plate steps on the trailer, Im fabricating a new dash to house a double din stereo with backup camera on the tower, I tried my hand at carbon fiber and gel coat work and just finished sanding the teak swim deck.

This was the first time ive ever messed around with carbon fiber. Its a pain in the a$$, but it gets kind of addictive.

...and heres the swim deck. It came out a little darker than i wanted it, but i think it still looks good.

Looks like some ninjas stopped by and chromed the mirrors on your truck :D

Nice looking work on the boat parts though.

nice work, and the platform looks perfect...definitely not too dark.

Only complaint is that your Benz is definitely not Sikk...lol

Camera

What are you using for a camera on the tower, I'm thinking of doing that on my Calabria, would be nice to watch the wake surfing. Have you picked out a camera ???

I havet chosen a camera, but i was thinking of one like the maliview. As for the benz, just keeping it in the family.....;)

Heres some progress on the double din dash. I used 1/2" mdf and I plan to either carbon fiber it or resin and paint it.

Where did you get the trim ring for the gauge bezel?

1sikkvlx 03-23-2012 9:18 PM

I bought it used for $40 online. I also bought a billet 3 gauge bezel from malibu that i might use instead of the double din i was making.

michridr69 03-25-2012 2:36 PM

that platform looks brand new, nice work

1sikkvlx 03-25-2012 3:35 PM

Ive been back and forth on the double din or the billet one. I think i might just finish the double din and see witch one i like better. I just finished coating the mdf panel with penetrating epoxy. Also, i still need an rgb controller. If anyone has a recommendation on one that will sync with music and has a couple of zones i would appreciate it. I want to run the cup holder rings on one, all the badge emblems on another and maybe a third for the tower speaker rings.

Great lookin boat man. Wish I had the time to figure out how to work that dash like you did.
