Board Rack Coating

Has anyone ever used Line-X or something similar to coat their racks? Would it damage the board? Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

Seriously? Why would you need to coat a board rack?

It"s actually for my Sky Ski. I have a new board and it doesn't fit my old rack, so I modified and made new forks to fit the thicker board. I now need something durable to put on the new forks that will protect it as well. This should answer your second question and to answer your first question...yes, seriously.

You could try rhino liner and do it yourself. I think the little can of it is ~$30. Line X also would probably work but needs to be professionally installed. The cost of which is probably higher than just buying new board racks! It will have a hard rubbery surface once it's done. I don't think it would damage the board provided you can still securely fasten them.

Ever think about dipping it into rubber that will coat it. I've done it in the past for magnets at work so I could keep them clean. Plastidip is the company of the stuff I used. I got it from ACE Hardware. Rubber may be easier on your stuff.
