2010 Axis A22 at Lake Shasta this summer.

wow! that's a huge wake! I wonder if the A20 is capable of that? I'd like to have the A20 one day.

Looks a whole lot like our Axis wake with the same set up....
Same wake as Wade's but the pic isn't as good. The rider in the pic is 6'4.

that first wake is insane. i would be doing the same as the guy in the pic, and riding away from it. Damn, that thing has teeth!!! Maybe the guy is only 4' tall??

You have to show some love for 02 SANTE rolling with 1300 in it.
Attachment 9146 |
Not bad Harold, but really not the place for it. That Axis wake is outta control, I'm jealous.
i thought gloves went out in 99?
Ben it gets way bigger but have not had a need for it as I have another 2400 LBS of ballast that can be added at a flick of a couple switches ......H
can u say wake surf??? we had the gravity games ballast, front and left full, plus the 3 bags. front locker is 1100#, left is 650, there is a 750 on the floor w/ a 1200 triangle on top, and another 750 on top of that. the back of the boat was under water before we moved everyone to the left side of the boat. The roller would actually hurt when u fell as it pushed you under the water. lol we had basically the exact same amount of weight for wakeboarding as well, just a little more even side to side:)

Looks Safe, Why no pic of the wake? Bet that thing did a wheelie.
x2 lets see that surf wake
Probably wasn't nearly as impressive as the ammount of weight they were running?
How did that top bag not roll right off the back when you pulled someone up?
thats crazy!
thats why I like the Axis, all the weight and no bags to trip over-
Is the Axis wake like the Malibu wake or different?
all that weight and you couldn't get a surf pic?
srry guys. put all the pics up and forgot the wake pic. its not the best photo of just the wake but it'll work.

here is a vlx w/ 2x 750 3x 500 and 1250 stock ballast. in this pic there is an extra 500 on the back seat because there weren't any extra people w/ us that day. Just ryan and me. And the off 180 is me at 25mph at 90ft. same vlx http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-...1_128993_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._7222824_n.jpg |
sick sequence.
"there is no boat on the market that has a huge wake w/ stock ballast." false. Epic 23V really is huge with stock ballast. Its 4000 lbs. I can honestly say that Epic with stock ballast full and a few people is at least tied with the biggest wakes Ive ever ridden. |
The epic wake with an extra 400 or so in the nose is one of my favorites

[QUOTE=steelesrt;1639407]axis is a sick boat, but there is no boat on the market that has a huge wake w/ stock ballast. I would much rather fill up 100 sacs than ride w/ 900#s of ballast. lol. everyone is at different skill levels, but the thread is about sac'd out boats.
here is a vlx w/ 2x 750 3x 500 and 1250 stock ballast. in this pic there is an extra 500 on the back seat because there weren't any extra people w/ us that day. Just ryan and me. And the off 180 is me at 25mph at 90ft. same vlx The Axis wakes we are talking about in this thread are with the plug and play system which is 2700lbs of ballast not 900. You can swap the 400s in the back out for 750s and be sitting on 3400lbs of ballast plus wedge and not a bit of it is laying in the boat. |
+! for old SANTE hull
Here is ours w/ only ~1500lbs (ballast and people) http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-a...83591_3414.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-a...83592_3661.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-a...83584_1682.jpg |
And people wonder why their boat has cracks in the hull and why the engine has problems with only 500 hours on it... and why the people who live on the lake are trying to ban ballast systems...

yah,,, Jay can go big. Everything he throws is huge- where's a pic of your wake Jay? that thing scares the $Hiz out of me!
Casey, what speed you all surfing at?
Stock Vride 900 lbs, plus 200 lbs in the bow & 5 people on board.

Bill, wish I could see that picture you posted (work has it blocked). We just sold our 05 Vride. All we had was the integrated bow sac (and stock mid), but it worked great. I love me some Vride!
does the wake do anything with an air chair?
THat 230 wake is insane, what weight are you running for surfing and wakeboarding?

Just like a board, it's a combination of the equipment, wake & technique. I just happened to get all of that one at the time. I'm certainly not consistent at it, but manage to hook it all up occasionally. |

Plus the seats have some suspension in them. The Evolution seat I use has about 1" of travel. The older Shock Towers were heavier but have like 4" of travel. Plus you have a 2" thick pad on the seat. I had a bulging disc in L5 S1 years ago & riding SkySki doesn't aggravate it very much at all. Obviously if my back is bothering me, I'm not out there pushing it though. Getting that high is a rush, for sure! When you have so much time in the air that you can see stuff on the floor of the boat, hear people nearby saying, "HOLY *^%#@!", then finally land it.... well it's tough to beat that feeling. The really good rider count the height in frames.... like how many video frames in a video of the trick. I think the highest is like 62 frames..... at 30 frames/second thats over 2 seconds in the air! If anyone is ever interested in trying it out sometime, drop me a line. I have a few connections & might be able to hook you up with someone in your area. Getting out with someone who is already riding is a great way to speed up the learning curve. A couple of guys I coached a bit on their riding in the last year or so (and are WW members) & are landing inverts already. |
there's always a few on samm. really fun to watch. been trying to hook up with my cousin in wenatchee. he and his are into it.
wow... cool shot bill.
whoa...that's huge Bill!

not "SACKED" but about 1100 above ballast.
Mario, maybe you should think about sacking out your boat before you try to post in this thread. My kayak makes a bigger wake than that.
Roger that Ben. I'll get some sacks to try to dial out the wash at the end of the curl.

Atta step up Mario, great attitude. Maybe you can take some tips from Levi, oh baby thats a large wake. This thread makes me go weak at the knees.

cjh1669, for wakeboarding we had stock ballast (1075 lbs), plus an additional 750 lbs on each side of the engine, 450 on the floor in the back, 700 in the front walkway/bow, and then an 1100 lb bow triangle. We also had 4 adults in there. We were riding at 27 mph, and 85 ft. I haven't surfed that boat yet, so Casey will have to fill you in on that. |

Here's about 1K in my 09 V-Ride...Bill K helped get my wake rolls dialed in. The board has always been a lot of fun, but at 43 with a lot of hard miles on the body my knees really like the sky ski.
Nice Greg! Miss that big wake of yours around here!

1700 lbs!! Yeah..the wake is still pretty small. lol. But I love her still. :D
