Let's see some Lake Houses and Lake Fronts

When the water is too rough to go wakeboarding, one my favorite things to do is stock the cooler and just cruise around the lake and look at the Lake Houses. There is always something new and it's pretty cool to see the renovations. I'm sure there has been a thread like this before, but I haven't seen one like this in a little while. THIS IS NOT A **** MEASURING CONTEST!

I give you a lil background on our family's spot...this place has been in our family for over 80 years. At one point during the 50s or 60s (I think), it was actually picked up and moved a couple of lots down to where it sits now. Currently we are putting in a new bathroom downstairs and next summer we're moving the wooden wall back 3ft and replacing it with brick. Oh, and we just had the electric re-done because it hadn't been touched since the 1920s. It was a bit of a fire hazard.:D

1 pic is of our Lake House, 2-4 is how the lake looks now with the water levels down, and the 5th one is probably the nicest house on the lake.

If you dont mind add what lake you are on. It is my dream to own a lake house and will make it happen someday.

Findley Lake, New York - it is a small lake about 3/4 mile over the border into New York from Pennsylvania. It is about 25-30 minutes outside of Erie, and 20-25 minutes west of Lake Chautauqua.

Neither of these are mine but I keep my houseboat at my buddies dock in Sacramento and the Tahoe Pines house is a family friends that I stay at several times a year. Just down the street from Flur du Lac (Godfather 2) and the picture was taken Oct 28th of this year. Good to have generous friends...

This is my family's lake house. Nicola Lake, Merritt BC, Canada. 3hrs outside of Vancouver. As soon as you get over the coastal mountains it's semi desert. Across the lake from us is the largest privately owned ranch in Canada at 350,000 acres, The Douglas Lake Ranch which was founded in 1886

Paul Allen's crib. Mercer Island wouldnt' let him put a heli pad on his property so he bought or built a boat he could put out front with a heli pad on it. Money wins

All those houses are on Lake Washington. There are some other amazing one's as well. I know there was one that was for sale for 30 or 40 million before the market crashed. There is another Bavarian style mansion that is 20k+ sqft that has mature landscaping. Ballmer, Oki, McCaw, Nordstrom and Sinegals house are all on the same point. I actually lived in a house in the neighborhood. Pretty crazy to be be getting coffee in the morning next to one of the top 20 richest people in the world.

My buddy used to live on the last house on hunts point. It has since been torn down. Talk about good times especially miss the gold fish shaped swimming pool. The funny thing is that cove is the only place worth trying to ride on the whole lake.

polarbill 11-14-2013 9:34 PM

Kozy Cove. That last house was Stan Sayers(sp?) I believe. Ridiculous piece of property.

This is the breakers. Not the best pic. Bu it's a little private community of homes and condos. The dock is the party scene at night! Has a stage with lights. Do Saturday night steak dinners there. It's actually kind of a place where you get dressed up to go to on weekends. It's about a 10 minute boat ride from the house. Usually go there by boat and take a night cruise and idle home.
