FYI If rooms fill up here in Merced check out Modesto Dbl Tree also Turlock and Fresno (Fresno is about an hour from the lake). Courtyard is the newest probably cleanest in town. Just go to Google maps to find numbers etc. If you want to stay in town reserve soon the UC starts that week and a lot of families may be in town.
