I found a 1998 Malibu Sportster LX open bow boat. Comes w/ 310 Vortec Motor, tadem axel, bimini, Titan Wakeboard Tower, Wedge, Wakeboard Rack and a cd player. They are asking $17,000....is this a good buy? Also what are your thoughts on the Malibu Sportster LX.....I am going to open up a waterski/wakeboarding school. I had one and loved it. 310HP in a 2400 lbs boat is a lot of fun! <BR> <BR>I sold a 98 Sportster LX 3/02 for $16,500 but it didn't have a tower. Overall great boat. <BR> <BR>also check our <a href="http://www.malibuboatowners.com" target="_blank">www.malibuboatowners.com</a> for other people that have had experiences with then, everyone loves them.

Hey thanks for all of your input! I just called the guy who is selling the Sportster. He told me that the boat has 500 hrs on it, has been servied yearly and has always been garaged. Asked him why he was selling it and he said because his wife is making him. I could tell he was really bummed about it<IMG SRC="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/happy.gif" ALT=":-)" BORDER=0> So anyway I am going this weekend to look at the boat and possibly test drive it. Are there any specific questions I should ask him? I am not an expert on Malibu boats. I checked the Nadaguides and the low is $13,400 and average is $16,850 with all of the options he has on it.
