I saw a nice trailer that my local dealer carried called a phoenix. It was well built, color matched, same font lettering, led lighting, mag wheels, prop protector wheels, back up lights and brake lockout and a swing tonge. Problem was that it was anbout 5k before taxes and fees.

What other options does a guy like me have other than spending 5K on that trailer but still get a tandem trailer new? I dont want to get my trailer converted or hassle with that stuff, I just want a new trailer with warranty. What is a quality trailer for cheaper?

About 2 years ago I purchased a brand new Trailmaster Trailer for WELL UNDER 5k (I think around 1/2 of that). Mine is a tandem axle with swing tongue, spare tire, etc. for my 21' Super Air Nautique. They put "nautique" decals on it as well so it looked like it came with the boat. I would highly recommend them for the price. Sorry, but this is the only pic I have right now...

what do you want for your old trailer?

trdon 12-16-2009 8:20 AM

I would take 1400 for it.

Will you send me some pictures? I am interested.

Another option is to look around at dealers near lakes, Orlando, Texas, Carolinas, etc. Everyone is trying to get rid of stuff right now and people buy boats without trailers that were ordered with trailers, so they have brand new trailers sitting around collecting dust.

Also, when looking for trailers, make sure you buy from someone who is a trailer wholesaler/distributor and orders in bulk, it can knock off 500$+

Try trail rite in Santa Ana California. They make a very nice trailer that you can definitely and have it shipped to you for less than $5K.

Trailers are not cheap thats why I converted mine from a single axle to a tandem axle cost me around $2500.00 to $3000.00 but I went with nice wheels and brand new tires also. I know when I called boatmate it was not going to be cheap for what I was looking for. As soon as I get all the led's on it I will post pics.

I got a Phoenix aluminum/galvinized dual axle trailer cheaper than $5000 when I bought my boat (see profile pic). They must of went up in the last 2 years or your dealer is marking them up high. Don't know where you are but call Chad at Carolina Mastercraft in SC if you are close to them.

Your trailer is an I beam trailer, I am looking at a steel box frame painted trailer. It might account for the difference in price.

Kevin - nice trailer! The galvanized trailers that come with the Salt Series MCs are UGLY! Yours is the way they (MC) need to go for sure.

I just got a Brand new fully boxed tandem axle trailer with disc breaks, swing tongue, boat buddy and a Fulton F4 wide track jack for $4400.
