I installed some 6.5's in a set of dual firing cans, (speakers sit back to back). I'm thinking they are probably canceling each other out somewhat. Should I have reversed the polarity on one? I've checked out various sources and can't find where it would hurt anything. Wondering if this has come up for anyone before.

With my limited knowlege I'm going to say no. If they share a box (can), then you don't want to reverse the phase. I'm pretty sure you'd end up cancelling out the bass (or midbass) from one set of drivers.

I'm sure someone on here with more stereo knowlege will chime in.

Hi Dave-

Evan is right on the money with regards to what would happen. Wire them both to the same polarity. You currently are not canceling anything out at all, but you for sure would if you reversed the phase of one....

Phil
Kicker
