Nautique 2001 vs Supra Sunsport wake

I would love to see which boat you guys think throws a bigger wake. And when I mean sunsport I mean a 1986 or 1989 not the newer hull. I also would love to see pictures of the wake.

Andrew Sarafa, Wakeboardguy123, is that you?

Nautique 2001 will have the superior wake in my opinion. It gets as big as you want it to be with as much weight as the boat will push with a 13x10.5 prop, maybe even more with a 13x9.5, we haven't tried that yet...

Come on really. Another ID. This time asking about a boat your ID implies you already have?

Here we go again.

Throws a monster wake!! Get on it early in the morning for some butter runs and you can get them under 20' all day!

I'm not that stupid idiot that guy is a little Sh- it just wondering and my friends have been asking me which has a bigger wake one says 2001 and one says sunsport. Honestly my sunsport has a huge wake and I've never ridden behind a 2001.

Hahaha ok you can disregard the dong then!

Pretty sure it's a different guy, he was in another thread asking for help on which perfect pass would work for his sunsport.

I think the sunsport is going to be bigger with equal weight, but it's also wider and a bit more mellow. The 2001 will be more narrow and a little bit steeper from my experience. I'm also a big fan of the old sunsports

I owned a 1987 2001 barefoor nautique, and currently own a 1988 supra sunsport. The Supra has a better wake hands down. I know the barefoot nautique hull is a little different that a regular 2001 hull, its a little deeper V. But i have seen other 2001's and the supra is by far the better wake, weighted or unweighted. I had a lot of trouble getting a good wake out of my Nauti, I had the Supra dialed in pretty well after a few hours of moving weight around.

Little bit deeper vee is only the beginning of how the barefoot is different then the 2001 hull... lifting strakes, hull shape at the stern, bow, the whole thing is different. Yes, the barefoot hull is worse then the 2001 hull, and probably the sunsport too, but there is no comparison... If you've never been on a slammed 2001 wake... well... Its good, real good

I've been on both. I owned an 88 2001 and my friend owned a Sunsport. I think it comes down to personal preference rather than size. 2001 is more vert and Sunsport is more rampy. I also felt lake the Sunsport was a softer and more washy wake than the 2001. I love the shape of the 2001 wake, however, I fully acknowledge that I am biased as I spent 99% of my time wakeboarding behind a 2001 and now a Super Air.
