Board recommendations for beginner/ intermediate rider?

My buddy is gonna make his first board purchase. He's clearing th wake and getting better. Looking or some ideas on boards. He's a bigger dude. I haven't ride a lot of continuous rocker boards. Any suggestions?

It all depends on your price range really. Also is he planning on sticking only to boat or hitting some cable here and then?

I have several boards and I think a very forgiving board is the Ronix District. It's a continuous rocker board and the pop is very consistent (predictable) and has plenty of speed. Now if he's the type that like surface tricks or a loose board than a Slingshot continous rocker (Response model) or subtle 3-stage (Reflex model) is very loose and spins so easy. Plus Slingshots are known for landing very soft compared to traditional boards that are stiff. I'm very much a beginner/intermediate and love those boards and they still will allow any rider to progess. Easy to find closeouts on these models on ebay.

Yeah I'm on a Hooke and love it... We only right boat. My bro likes his district also. Seems like there r great deals on 11 and 12 ronix gear

I would also look into the Hyperlite stuff. The Marek is very soft landing and if you get the shorter fins it can ride pretty loose too. It can handle bigger guys as I am 6'4" 210.
