Centurion FX244 Body Glove boat. It's big.

The triple axle trailer just makes it look even more massive then it is. The thing weighs 5800lbs dry. Anyone going to the Chicago show?

Here's the build.

I couldn't tell from the pics but has centurion gone to molded in hard tanks that fill up a bunch of the storage area's in the rear lockers and under the cockpit seats?

SecretSquirrel 01-14-2014 6:02 PM

Yes, Ramfill, This thing has something like 4800lbs of built in ballast. Fills in 30 seconds. Unfortunately it takes up a lot of storage. But It's an option. Can still go with the standard soft tanks. See where the tool boxes and stuff are sitting in that one photo? That looks like a beng, that's the tanks.

polarbill 01-14-2014 6:04 PM

I don't like that it takes up a lot, if not most of the storage with hard tanks. Is the 4800# ballast an option or standard with that boat and their others?

SecretSquirrel 01-14-2014 6:06 PM

It's an option. A lot of folks agree with you. I'm torn I see the benefit of RAMFILL, but it would suck if you traler your boat to lose all that storage. A lot of folks are more excited about CATS, which works with either the RAMFILL or standard ballast set up.

polarbill 01-14-2014 6:22 PM

As long as it is an option it isn't a problem. If I was a dealer I probably wouldn't order a single stock boat with it though.

Unfortunately, that's the complete opposite of what's happening at the dealerships. EVERY 2014 FX22/FX44 and SV233/244 have been ordered WITH RAMFill based on my searches I've been running for the past month! Furthermore, I learned that you lose the 2nd pair of rear in-boat speakers in both the SV233 and FX22 when ordered with the RAMFill.

If anyone comes across a 2014 SV233 or SV244 without RAMFill, hit me up!

Good to know Body Glove is still in business.

JetRanger 01-15-2014 8:16 PM

What's an option? Is Ramfill an option? Do I have the option of not getting this option or is not getting this option not an option?

Order one. You'll get it in time. As for the 2nd pair of cabin speakers. Big deal, install some 808's under the rear bench.

I heard some options are optional.

There is still a fair amount of storage with this boat. In the rear lockers you can still fit almost a 750lb fat sac. Under the side seats you can't fit much but some life vests, lines, etc.

I surfed one of these last month. Hands down the best wake I have seen! no addition weight. Within a minute it was larger than what they tow Worlds with. So impressed. Both sides were great! The CATS fin works so well.

What's the wakeboard wake like? I'm kidding, no one cares about the wakeboard wake on a Centurion.

As far as a dedicated surf boat goes, that looks like the G23 of surfing. 4800 lbs of ballast? Wow

surffresh 01-16-2014 5:13 AM

speaking of the G23 of surfing, I have some buddies that demo'd and were quoted 107 for the FX44, they said at that price we might as well get a G23

SO they can get a second rate surf boat and still pay another 10 grand on top of this price? Sounds like a great idea. Might want to consider warranty coverage on your 100k+ boat as well. 5 years on the Centurion. Engine warranties would be the same.

Come on now, play nice. No need to call the G23 surf "second rate" when it has been proven to compete with the top brand surf boats. It may not be the best but it is far from second rate.

You put the sunglasses emoticon after your post indicating deception. You don't want us to see your shifty eyes as you pontificate fables.

Good day sir!

surffresh 01-16-2014 6:24 AM

wow, it's just to easy to shake it up up on here or hit a nerve and I'm sure this will hit another, my friends words NOT mine were, " we wakeboard half and surf half, we domo'd both and the Centurion is a second rate wakeboard boat so for another 8% or so we will get the best of both worlds and when we go to sell it we will not limit our market to the surf only crowd, or we could get 2 21ft MB's and share a trailer, clean up the financing / responsibilities, put more chicks on two boats, but maybe not get as many chicks because it's not a G or will there care, put half the hours on each, decisions…decisions….hmmm?."

I saw the FX244 for under $100k at the Portland Boat Show and it seemed to be pretty loaded. Your buddy may want to check his pricing.

If my memories serves me correct, it started out at 99K. I was quite underwhelmed with the storage in the FX44. For a 24' boat, I would expect a TON more... but then again it did have Ram Fill and it can load up on a bunch of ballast in minutes, but it's not something I would ever trade as storage>ballast. That's what sacs/pumps/etc. are for, but then again that's just me. CATS are neat. I do really like the styling of this boat and it is pure eye candy. Centurion stepping it up!
