Camping and boating thread
Let's see your boat camping pics and ideas. Houseboats and lake houses don't count. We just moved from Louisiana to Colorado so we will have to start camping more to get the good water before the hordes put in. Anyways, looking for ideas. Here is how we did it in Louisiana
My tips for would be boat campers are: Sand isn't soft....you will need a thermarest Duraflame logs with a few pieces of driftwood are great Bring lots of folding chairs http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5280/7...f971191b_b.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8157/7...8c7c2df6_b.jpg |

I just picked up an old washing machine so that I can pull the drum and turn it into a fire pit. I love campfires but hate campfire smoke and the washing machine drums work awesome for minimizing the smoke. That might be kind of a pita for boat camping though.
I never tent camp. I've got a truck camper currently but I'm thinking about going to a smallish 5th wheel. If I understand it correctly, 60ft is the max length for California and that can be a truck/camper/boat set up. Bakes, Shawndoggy, I am Nickypoo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

We camp most often on Lake Mead. The last one is what happens when you arrive too late on a Labor Day weekend.

Almost nothing at work.... But I'll throw up a couple for a very old trip to LP...

My wife...not so much. Ever since finding a rattlesnake under the tent when pulling up camp at Starvation, she's not a camper. |

Getting on the road from my house and arriving 250 miles to the Daniel Boone National Forest at Laurel Lake. I have made this trip 12 of last 13 years on Memorial Weekend. I have been so blessed with friends and family and the ability to share my boats with them.

Double trailer! I'm impressed, I'm gonna spend my winter learning to pull my MC x-10 behind my class c motor home, if any one has the hot tip for that!

Memorial Day weekend. I pull the 43' toy hauler and my wife pulls the boat up. We have a favorite spot at Woodward Reservior in Oakdale, Ca. The only two pics I have are me letting the guys at work know what time it was....

What are the laws/rules when it comes to camping on the shoreline of a lake that's not part of a park?
