Shane bindings compared to Watsons?
I am going to update from 08 LTD shanes to 2010s. Just curious as i haven't seen much narrative on them as far as flex and support. Can anyone tell me how the Shanes and Watsons are different.
Reason i ask is i suffered horrible chin splints all last summer and i have a bad achilies tendon. I love the way the Shanes ride, but may lean towards the Watsons if they are more supportive. |
Dave. I can't speak for the new bindings, but my CT Watsons are a bit tight on my wide foot. I hear that the Shanes are better for wide feet.

The Watsons are going to be more stiff. My brother has the 08's and they are comfy, very stiff though, but I like that.

the 2010 ltd shanes are surprizing stiffer than the 08's. i had 08 ltd's and now have 2010 ltd shanes. i love them to bits!

I had shin splints so bad about 6-7 years ago I could hardly walk. I found stretching before every ride to really help. i haven't gotten them since. What helps me is to put one foot flat on the floor and lean forward stretching my calf muscle, I place the top of my other foot facing down and stretch the front of my leg at the same time . I do this every time along with stretching a lot of other muscles before I ride and it totally helps. Try to get in the habit of stretching before every ride and you'll be amazed at how much better you feel after riding. Last week I rode 6 out of 7 days and was only a little sore.

i went ahead with the Shanes, as i have been riding them for years and love the feel. Hoping the new features will help out with my legs.
Stan you couldn't be more correct. I broke my tib/fib a couple years ago that resulted in surgery which left me with a bad achilies tendon, had trouble with it all the time after exercising and especially after wakeboarding. Started stretching it everyday and it has been 80% better. thanks for the info guys |
I had the 2008 Shane CT now switched to the 2010 Watson CT... I like the new binding is stiffer and lighter... feels much closer to the board, helps my edging as well
