hey whats up,
I'm new to the sport and need some help choosing the right board. I'm 5'8 170 pounds. I've been lookin at the LF tripp 138 and the balance 135. I think the trip will be a little easier to learn on but the balance sounds like more fun. I haven't ahd a chance to demo any yet, its been hard finding places around Boston. Any help you can give would be cool
In my opinion, the 135 is a litle too small for you. You're at the high end of the weight limit for a 135. This will make your big landings sketchy.

I think the 135 is too small for you. 170 lbs needs to be on a 138 at least. I have never ridden LF before but I would recommend the Hyperlite Premier 140 (2003) or even the Parks 138. A lot of people consider the Parks to be strictly intermediate to advanced but I have had tremendous luck teaching newbies on it b/c it tracks so well. Good luck.
