Megayachts

Hey gang,

Was just after some help landing a job onboard megayachts. i have been trying for the past few months but finding it real hard without any previous whiteboat experience. i have a GPH certificate, STCW95 and ENG1.
If anyone has any helpful suggestions, hook ups or hot tips i'd be extremely thankful.

Don't know anything about it, but, I could imagine that being on a smaller boat compared to a cruise ship they would need people that are more than mechanically inclined. Maybe some finishing school types of classes. Know your wines, how to set tables, how to dress kind of classes. Beyond that, maybe volunteer down at the docks to get to be known.

You can apply to Crewfinder.com but to get a good position you need to either know somebody, have valuable skills or look really good in a pair of khakis and a polo.
Ft. Lauderdale or the UAE are the two best places to find work.

I have a friend that is working on one and her contract is up in less than 30 days and she does not plan to re-sign. I will see if I can get some info for you and PM you with it..

Thanks for your help guys. Aren't those photos amazing.
If I don't get a job within a month I'm planning on heading to Antibes or Palma de Mallorca to walk the docks..... Sadly I don't look great in khakis. Haha
Brett that'd be great. Thanks
