Looks like they finally got a big name girl to join the team. Neat! and congrats!

dakid 01-01-2009 12:18 AM

"finally?" they've been in business a few months. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>good for company and nicola!

matteoh 01-01-2009 1:16 AM

wow that sucks for hyperlite. She's the best. Like she doesn't even compare to any girl in the king of wake competitions.

pierem 01-01-2009 2:44 AM

it looks that a lot of good riders left hyperlit....

n00b 01-01-2009 7:38 AM

Lf to hype to company in 2 years....you can't buy that kind of loyalty. ;p

wakerider111 01-01-2009 8:15 AM

I don't mean for my use of "finally" to sound as if it has taken a long time or anything, especially since it is winter and all. It actually happened quite fast considering. And i say this with just an f.y.i. tone, not an argumentative one, again, just f.y.i. hehehe ;) <BR> <BR>at least it proved to be humorous ;)

wkbrd 01-01-2009 11:44 AM

Philip- It's nice to see people run their mouth about loyality when they don't know a single fact! Congrats to Nic &amp; her family.

n00b 01-01-2009 12:17 PM

I was poking fun Jim, hence the ;p at the end. Maybe I'll use <sarcasm> tags for you next time. <BR> <BR>Of course I don't know the ins and outs of the deal, all I know is that Nic kills it every time and is a better wakeboarder than I could ever hope to be. Congrats to Nic.

wkbrd 01-01-2009 12:46 PM

Sorry didn't read it that way.

toby_yeo 01-01-2009 3:19 PM

me neither..

cavlxenvy 01-01-2009 3:23 PM

Hyperlite cannot seem to keep any of their girls on their team. <BR> <BR>Emily Copeland Durham left. <BR>Shelby Kantar left. <BR>Heather Johnson left. <BR>Nicola has left. <BR> <BR>I have many sources that have confirmed they do not put a lot of stock into supporting their ladies. <BR> <BR>Kinda sad. <BR> <BR>Good luck to Nicola though I don't think she needs it.

lfxstar 01-01-2009 3:31 PM

Nicola was on hype before she dominated the tour. I'm sure her contract reflected her pre-tour status as just pretty much an up and coming rookie versus the best rider on tour getting paid real $$.

joshbuzz 01-01-2009 4:12 PM

Why is it when almost all company threads come up some people get really offended when people make remarks, but in other cases, talking about other things are always the first to point out fault?? <BR> <BR>hmm. <BR> <BR>See the river from both banks...

lftaylor 01-01-2009 4:43 PM

VLX I believe Hyperlite resigned Heather is what Chris (nicola's dad) said

kaesen 01-01-2009 5:42 PM

nope, heather is still slingin.

sidekicknicholas 01-01-2009 6:55 PM

Heather is awesome.

wakeboard19 01-01-2009 7:09 PM

It's crazy to see company signing big names when they haven't really started the profit side of things yet. Especially when some board companies are hurting in this economy. <BR>Not saying this is a bad thing. It will help by having big names on-board.

cavlxenvy 01-01-2009 7:33 PM

Last I heard Heather was with Slingshot.

snwmot 01-01-2009 7:59 PM

just wait company just needs some time to get the ball rolling and there gonna come out swinging hard they have some big things in store! i know i'm excited.<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/proud.gif" border=0>

xistential 01-02-2009 6:28 AM

Heather is on Hyperlites website???

woreout 01-02-2009 7:06 AM

I think Anna Hajek is with Hyperlite now. <BR>She is one to watch this year for sure.

joe_crawley 01-02-2009 8:30 AM

Heather is on slingshot's website on the front page riders list

headhunter 01-02-2009 8:44 AM

No wonder the Women can't get paid! No loyalty...

wkbrd 01-02-2009 8:57 AM

hh please explain??? If they are not getting paid then why even bother? Would you be loyal if you are not getting anything? If budgets are getting cut wouldn't it make sense to take the best deal you could get? How loyal would you be to your employer when you do not get what you are promised from your employer? Loyalty is a two way street!!!!

headhunter 01-02-2009 8:59 AM

How do you know what had been promised?

wakedad33 01-02-2009 9:03 AM

No Loyalty for women??? <BR>Dallas <BR>Mallissa <BR>Shelby <BR>Amber <BR>Hoffmans <BR> <BR>All have been with with their board sponsers for a long time.

innov8 01-02-2009 9:11 AM

Congrats to both Company and Nicola!!

rico80 01-02-2009 9:17 AM

I doubt this is anything more than athletes searching for the best contract, and good for them. Rider endorsement is really nothing more than advertising expense, a start up needs more advertising to gain recognition and market share than an established company does. They are probably willing to bid higher for a big name then. <BR> <BR>I know nothing about the situation, hopefully Chris can enlighten us, but that is my guess. <BR> <BR>I'm sure its tough for the ladies to get paid because wakeboarding itself isn't a huge sport, ladies sales are a pretty small % of that, then divide by the number of companies... the money generated by ladies sales can't justify much. Hopefully the sport and business grows to change that.

steezyshots 01-02-2009 9:19 AM

Heather Johnson is back on Hyperlite!

travisp 01-02-2009 9:31 AM

To clear it all up, Heather Is still riding for Slingshot for 09 and is very stoked on it ! <BR> <BR> <BR>Travis Propst

cavlxenvy 01-02-2009 10:43 AM

Check out the Hyperlite Girls team... daddy likes.<a href="http://www.hyperlite.com/member_profile.php?content_id=137" target="_blank">http://www.hyperlite.com/member_profile.php?content_id=137</a>

westsidarider 01-02-2009 11:14 AM

we got kaesen who rides for sling sayin heather is with them. <BR> <BR>then we got riley who works for hyperlite saying that heather is with them. <BR> <BR> <BR>-calling heather- where are you. hahahahah. sounds like a little double agent ridin is goin on. hahahahhaa

rico80 01-02-2009 11:34 AM

Haha, Heather is listed on both Hyperlite and Slingshot website's Team page. Someone has some explaining to do.

steezyshots 01-02-2009 12:20 PM

Maybe she is a spy?

rico80 01-02-2009 12:23 PM

or has an evil twin

steezyshots 01-02-2009 12:30 PM

oooh I bet that's it! Evil Twins are always causing ruckus!

rico80 01-02-2009 12:36 PM

how do you know which one is the evil one though, that's the trick of it

onthewatermo 01-02-2009 12:36 PM

This is a bad love triangle...why can't she ride Hype when she is in the mood and Sling when she gets bored of Hype?

travisp 01-02-2009 12:46 PM

ha <BR> <BR>As a Slingshot rider and Heathers significant other it is FACT she resigned with slingshot ! <BR> <BR>and to the original topic: Congrats Nicola ! <BR> <BR>Travis Propst

rico80 01-02-2009 1:00 PM

Travis how do you know your significant other isn't the evil twin? <BR> <BR>I dated a twin once. I secretly always hoped she would try a switch one night with her sister. I could tell the difference but I would have played dumb anyway. They never did though, maybe because I was already with the evil one. <BR> <BR>(Message edited by rico80 on January 02, 2009)

onthewatermo 01-02-2009 1:03 PM

Now is that "resigned" or "re-signed"?

kyle_m 01-02-2009 1:03 PM

Back to the original post congrats to Nicola and to Company they are going to have a team full of heavy hitters and i am sure they will be around for a long time to come

xistential 01-02-2009 1:52 PM

With regard to the loyalty thing. At the end of all the discussions money was NOT the deciding factor in Nicola going to Company. <BR>We found them to be the nicest people to deal with. They are also really excited to have Nicola on board and she is as excited to have signed with them. <BR>We parted amicably and remain on good terms with Hyperlite.

travisp 01-02-2009 2:53 PM

re-signed...as in riding for slingshot again for 2009 ! <BR> <BR>sorry..that wasn't clear <BR> <BR>I'm a rookie when it comes to posting. I usually just read ha <BR> <BR>Travis P

wakedad33 01-02-2009 3:15 PM

Chris, good to hear Nicola left on good terms with Hype, never good to burn bridges in this industry, Congrats to Her. <BR> <BR>Travis, did you do any filming with Spencer when he was in Orlando the last couple of month?

travisp 01-02-2009 5:36 PM

Randy, <BR> <BR>I did a very little ! I wish I could have filmed a lot more. Spencer is awesome and his videos are getting better and better every year. I was out of town quite a bit while he was down. <BR> <BR>How are you guys ? Alex making his way down here this winter ?

wakedad33 01-02-2009 5:56 PM

Travis, yeah Spencer's new trailer is sweet. Alex is going to school and coaching snowboarding this winter. I think he's heading your way the first of March for a couple of months. If you see Jones tell him I said what up. <BR> <BR>Sorry for the hi-jack

sidekicknicholas 01-02-2009 5:57 PM

Chris, when you say "WE" are you like a manager or just like a family thing?

adam_balon 01-02-2009 6:14 PM

i agree... do you also ride for company chris?

jarrod 01-02-2009 8:03 PM

Its her dad dood. Where have you been?

westsiderippa 01-02-2009 8:07 PM

^^^^lmao^^^^ congrats Nicola!

wakerider111 01-02-2009 8:30 PM

since i am seeing Travis P. on here a bit i hope no one will mind me asking (him) what exactly is the situation on the binding inserts for '09 slingshot boards. It looks like the traditional inserts are moved closer together on the pics and might be "best" for the 6" base plated boots. or has the 4-hole inserts placement changed? of course ALL traditional insert styles "accommodate" 8" and 6" plates, but which will it accommodate BEST? <BR> <BR>I am sure many wakeworlders will want to know the same for Company boards too. I have a feeling that both Slingshot and Company will have the same measurements on inserts? <BR> <BR>sorry if i have missed the answer for this in the past somewhere

dakid 01-02-2009 8:34 PM

those are things you should already know, jeremy, as an off-the-record sales rep for slingshot. <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/lol.gif" border=0>

wakerider111 01-02-2009 8:36 PM

i am trying joe<img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/rofl.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR> <BR>----------------------------------------------------- <BR>maybe one of you few readers with a limited board or '09 SS board can get a ruler out and measure the darn thing <img src="http://www.wakeworld.com/MB/Discus/clipart/blush.gif" border=0> <BR> <BR>(Message edited by wakerider111 on January 02, 2009) <BR> <BR>(Message edited by wakerider111 on January 02, 2009)

wakeslife 01-02-2009 9:35 PM

I've wanted to know the exact same thing... Damn binding configurations, there's too many these days

bizz 01-03-2009 12:34 AM

I know I am not Travis P but just wanted to clear things up. <BR> <BR>First off just wanted to say we are stoked to have Nicola on the team and part of the family. As far as the bindings go all Company boards run a 6" binding hole pattern as well as the 4 hole pattern. The boards should be able to be used with pretty much every newer binding on the market. I hope this answers your question. If you have any more questions please let me know or e-mail us at <a href="mailto:info@companywake.com">info@companywak e.com</a>

symonphilip 01-03-2009 2:48 AM

Firstly as a UK rider let me congratulate Nic. <BR> <BR>Secondly let me congratulate Nic &amp; Nick, two awsome uk riders killing it on the world stage. as any of you other uk riders well know, its a very very difficult thing riding in the uk, with the fuel prices and cost of kit. so well done. i hope that they both show some of the other riders a thing or two. hopefully nicks playfull style will rub off on a few people. after all it is a fun sport..... and every time nick straps in you can see that boy smile!!!!!!!!

xistential 01-03-2009 4:41 AM

Adam &amp; Nick, Nicola is 16........

lfxstar 01-03-2009 6:36 AM

Chris, they are just trying to sound cool...

brutto_76 01-03-2009 9:15 AM

Hey Chris! Congrats (again) to Nic. Do you happen to know if anyone is bringing Company wakeboards to the UK?

xistential 01-03-2009 9:29 AM

Yeah,me Lol. Don't actually know. I will find out and let you know on UK Wakeboard.

deltawakerider 01-03-2009 12:55 PM

<a href="http://www.thewakeplace.com" target="_blank">www.thewakeplace.com</a> <BR>new footy of nic on Co.

travisp 01-03-2009 3:17 PM

Jeremy, <BR> <BR>this year the inserts are 1 1/2 inches further apart than last year. Making "all the way out" about 28 1/2 inches I think. <BR> <BR>for non slingshot bindings we changed to a 6" hole pattern that is standard for all companies for 09 I believe. 8" will still work though! <BR> <BR>hope that was helpful and yup like BIZZ stated companies inserts are the same as ours <BR> <BR>Travis

wakerider111 01-03-2009 3:39 PM

thanx a bunch bizz and travis. i know a lot of people have been wondering this.

wakerider111 01-04-2009 1:40 PM

zachcopp 01-04-2009 2:51 PM

Why do you guys think she is riding the Severance verses the Recruit? She used to ride the Tribute which is an Abrupt Continuous is it not? Seems like from what she rode in the past the Recruit would be more her style of board?
