wake 2 wake help - why is this happening?
Clearing the wake just fine, but this doesn't look right

Too much weight on your back foot usually is the cause for what is seen there. Try leaving the wake with close to 50/50 weight on each foot.

^^ ditto.

Tom, you generally "fly" the way that you take off. If you are in the air like this, it indicates to me that you are hitting the wake back foot heavy. I came from a slalom ski background. I fought the back foot heavy problem for a while until I started emphasizing weight on the front foot. My riding and jumping improved dramatically once I made the adjustment
hope that helps keep us posted!!! |
Pop from the center of the board with near equal weight on both feet. Don't try to olie from the tail like a skateboard.

thanks guys!

I was doing the same thing and it turned out that I was flattening out before hitting the wake.

After taking some video footage, I am just not standing tall.
seriously getting frustrated with slow progression. i've had some good pops. 1 out of 5 wake jumps is decent. Getting better, but really slowly A few other things of noticed myself doing wrong. 1. Letting the handle out. I seem to get nervous about getting out into the flats for some reason and let the rope out from hips mid-air 2. Looking down. I think I should be looking towards shore. Again, it's frustrating as all hell and the wrong way is starting to become muscle memory |
