sac for bow of 205v x star
 

Hey guys was wondering what you most of you use for a bow sack or something in the floor? The more I mess with my set up the more I realize I need more weight in front. I currently have 400lbs in lead in the front, KGB and cannot fill the 750s in the back full so only fill them to the level of what the old 450s were. The boat wont plane with them full and that current weight set up and most of us ride between 20 and 22 not 24 and above. Any suggestions would be great. Yes I have already re-propped

you're not going to be able to slam any boat and then run at 20MPH... the more weight you put in the faster you're going to have to run to get it to clean up.

when I had my 02 XStar i believe we ran a 750 in the bow and 750 in front of the back seat and then 400s beside the motor and we would have to run 23.5-25MPH to get it to clean up

Thats what I have found out for sure. What is the BEST weight set up for running 20 - 23 then. I know I need more weight in the front even with the 750s half full.

if you're wanting to run that slow I would run a 750 forward in the walk through along with the factory ballast and that's it.. you can add more weight when you get in the 23-24MPH range

when i used to slam my 205V - i was running at 25mph.
U def need weight up front. 60/40 rear/front distribution on that boat.

I think you would be happy with 400lbs. in the rear lockers, 400lbs. in the ski locker and the Fly High Integrated Bow sac up front under the seats. You will probably only get between 350 and 450 up there but it is hidden.

I love that boat. The wake will be good around 22 to 24 with that setup. I rarely ever skate behind the 205v with full ballast. The wake is a monster.

I used to run the integrated bow sac plus a 350lb sac in the walkway and a 350lb sac on top of it across the front seats plus the kgb full. There just isn't enough room under the seats for the integrated bow sac. I got tired of manually filling the 350s. I plumbed in a line with a quick release fitting and now I just run the 1000lb open bow triangle and the kgb. I also have 100lbs of lead right behind the kickpanel to offset the batteries and speaker box on the port side. I can fill the 750s, and it's clean at 75' at 23.5mph. With more than 3 or 4 people in the boat, it could still use a little more weight in the front.

I know you said you already repropped, but what prop are you running? I have the 14.25x14.5, and I think it's the prop of choice running lots of weight

If you back off the 750s and keep them at around 400-500 and add the Integrated bow sac its perfect for 20-23mph riding. There is just now way you can ride 20-23 with those 750's all the way full no matter how much weight you put in the bow.


I recently started backing off the weight and roll with my 750's filed probably about to 500. and have taken my 680lbs of pop bags out of the nose and added the Integrated bow sac. I did this because I am skiing more these days and having that solid 680lbs in the nose was awful for skiing. I found at 20-23 that its ok with just the Integrated bow sac full, but if I want to run my 24-24.5 even with the lighter weight i need about 160lbs of pop bags up there along with the integrated bow sac to keep the nose from proposing at those higher wakeboard speeds..

Cheapest solution and best fit in the walkway is an older style cylinder 600lb bag. IT fits perfectly in the walkway when filled tp the max and is just the right length not to make it past the drivers console by your feet too much. its just the right height to also turn the bow into more of a playpen as well. It was perfect for running my 750's o the high side towards full till I went with the hidden pop bags to open up my floor space, but again at 20-23mph you just can't run with the 750's filled and expect a clean wake no matter how much you throw in the bow. You need the speed

Hey Swat what do you think if I dumped my 750s sold them got the 400s in the back then bought an extra 400 for in the bow walk way and could use it on top of the back seat for surfing. I want to people to be able to ride at the low of 19 or 20 and high of 23. I do have 400lbs in lead as well.

Hey tampa I've got the same boat as u. I have the 400s but would love to upgrade 2 the 750s. (I currently run with the 400s plus sandbags in the rear.) If u wanna work some type of swap let me know. I'd b willing to throw some $ into the deal bc I know the 750s cost a little more. My 400s r blue.

As long as you are keeping the lead that would be a great setup. I really think at 20-23mph 500 each in the rear your 400lbs of lead in the nose and kgb should be a good setup. What prop are you running? Also stack that lead as far forward as you can .


However that boat loves weight in the nose so if you add another 300-450 in the nose and run 500 in the rears that would be the best possible setup at those lower speeds. Than you can roll that 450 to the back if you want to surf like you said.

@xstar. So guess your sticking with your boat. I upgraded to an OJ prop when I got the 400s with the 750s full I would need a newer prop. Part of the reason why thinking going back to the 400s or 5s if any around.
