Has anyone here even been riding on Lake Killarney in Winter Park, FL?

My roommates and I just moved out to a house next to the lake and just purchased a jet ski. We're wondering if anyone can give us some tips on what the deal is with the lake...

- Do boat cops patrol it often? Do you see cops on weekdays (M - F) also?

- Are cops picky about wearing USCG (US Coast Guard) approved vests vs. non-approved ones? I need to buy one and would prefer the smaller, non-approved ones...

- Is there any public access dock? (We have access to a private dock, but just wondering...)

- How busy does it get on the weekends?

- What side is the glassy water usually at?

- What's the best appetizer @ Houston's?

And here's a link to the lake on Google Satellite:
http://dwarfurl.com/bc912

You and your roommate should really enjoy Lake Killarney. It's a great lake that is usually pretty calm. Here are the answers to your questions.

- Boat cops do not patrol the lake, at least I have never seen one.

- If you are looking at a non-approved vest you should be in the clear.

- The Lake is semi-private with no easy access to the public.

- I have never seen the lake too busy to ride weekday or weekend. Most people on that lake have wakeboard boats but don't ride. Don't ask me why but this works out to your advantage.

- To find the glass you will just have to see what side the wind is blowing from. The only negative about Killarney is that there are a lot of cement retaining walls which cause rollers to bounce back messing up your line. Try to stay away from them if you can.

- Anything from Houston's is awesome.

Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.

Yes, yes. Please come ride. The lakes are great. Hurry before it gets too cold.

Guys, that Naegleria post is not from a human...

Naegleria is a free-living amoeba commonly found in the environment in water and soil. Only one species of Naegleria has been found to infect humans, Naegleria Fowleri.

How can we get this parasite off the discussion board? Is there some way to report him to a moderator so he doesn't entice any other people to go for a swim with him??

If you act like a fool on your jetski, you may get a visit for the authorities.

I know 2 fools who went out and bought 2 jetskiis and were nailed for:
no tags
no life jacket
speeding

Can't remember which lake but it was in the Winter Park/Maitland area.

Since the weather is starting to "cool"down, the ameoba scare lessens.

Yes yes.. The water is cooling down. Nobody likes cooled down water.

Make sure you get all the legal documents before you go ride cause we don't want anything getting in your way of a good time in the water.
