Diesel Wakeboard Winch

Some friends and I are building a wakeboard winch for deep water starts. We got our hands on a 6hp Yanmar Diesel engine for free. My question is, since it is a Diesel engine do we still need a torque convertor to get the power we need or can we use the cheaper option and get the centrifugal clutch?

So i did some research, I compared the closest gas honda engine, and they basically have the same torque specs. With that being said, id go with the torque converter. Check it our for yourself:
