try them on . Not everybodys foot is the same and the fit is differant from one to the other.

I've been riding ultras for the last 2 years ('03 and '04 ultras), I'm definitely gettin' some '05's.. They just keep gettin' better.

If you're riding high suctions now, you'll have no problems with the Ultras, and you'll be wondering why you ever rode those pieces of crap. I rode those for a while, they're horrible dude.

I just upgraded from the heel crushers (3060-Y2K)Saturday mornin'. We'll be goin out in the evening today. I tried the 05s on and they feel great, real tight and everything. The only thing to watch out for is the red dye they used on the bottom and the fabric on the inside cause it bleeds so don't walk around on the carpet (unless it's red).
After seeing the ultras on a board and what you said, Im gonna buy those tonight for sure. Thank you everyone for your help. especially that picture.

I kept hearing that they would probably turn yellow quickly because of all the white. Is this true? I definatley want the new ultras of sphinx but I don't want them to turn yellow.

So I went out today with my new bindings, the base is so soft but the front of my feet get squeezed pretty good (can't wait to break em in good). Gettin out is not as hard as I thought and I never fell too hard to make them come off so they hold real good. They really help make you feel one with the board.
As for changing color and the straps yellowing it probably can happen if you leave them in the sun too much, but you'll probably be able to buy some new straps to replace in 2 or 3 years since they will probably be stretched out and need replacing anyway. I don't believe the footbed will wear that much b/c it's just so soft and has nice soft liner. Very nice bindings for the money.

Uncle Bruce!

Nice board, Jamie. Those Ultras look pimp on the old Gonzales. We may have to trade setups. Glad you took my advice on the bindings. I told you wouldnt be dissapointed. Keep working on that double half cab mobe to blind!

maltesecross 08-24-2004 1:25 PM

You know tool Uncle Bruce is still the man in Starkville!
Although it wasn't blind, I was stoked yesterday when I double half cab mobe, but then at the blind part I hit the 2nd wake and it kinda flipped me again. I'll be back on the horse in a couple of days.

the 05 ultras look good but i don't like the snowboard boot direction LF is getting into i personally liked the look of the 04 ulras better

brianthomas 08-24-2004 9:56 PM

If you noticed, that is pretty much the direction that all bindings are going, and I think there is a reason for it. That wasn't meant to sound a-hole ish either.

toolfan 08-25-2004 6:14 AM

Uncle Bruce,
that must have been a tiny camera you took those pictures with.

edward 08-25-2004 8:44 AM

yes but i think liquid force is a little more boot like than the rest of them.

brianthomas 08-25-2004 9:55 AM

more than CD? Those things look like you could use them right in your step in's. Also from the look of Obriens new stuff they are more bootlike, with a hint of And 1 kicks.

(Message edited by brianthomas on August 25, 2004)
