Transworld Sold - Except Wake
I was reading the Transworld Business email a few days ago and it says that all of the Transworld magazines had been sold to a different company with the exception of Wake which is left to Bonnier. Anyone hear of any reasons why? I am a little curious on why and how it will impact the mag.

I wonder why Wake stayed with Bonnier. I wonder of that is good or bad for the wake magazine.

if it means anything. all of the transworld titles except wake were out of the california office and wake was done in a florida office.

It probably will be business as usual, but I think it's wakeboarding overall that takes a credibility hit. Who knows what Grind media is thinking, but I would read this as Grind Media doesn't think Transworld Wake adds to the core action sports credibility of their other titles (or would add anything for them to generate extra revenue in ad sales or subscriptiions). Bonnier still has a ton of boat publications and the boat market still drives the majority of ad sales for all wake mags.
Just my $0.02 |
I didn't see anything in that article saying wake got left to Bonnier but maybe I'm wrong.... Yes wake was out of Orlando and everything else was in Carlsbad but who knows? Everyone seems to still be at work today. With the exception of those who took off early for the Masters...... :)
